I find it interesting BMW is making this car. I guess they want to compete with Mercedes flagship CL500 and CL600 large coupes for the 'big ballas'. I've seen both the coupe and the convertible, and yes, they look like huge 7-series two-doors. Definitely targeting the 50+ crowd. Personally, I think it's just too big, but I'm sure a lot of retired executives will buy into it....

that looks sweet, but i dont especially like the new design route that bmw has taken. some cars i've seen look horendous to me. reminds me of how honda changed the accord design in 02 even though it already looked really nice and chose an ugly design. i was going to buy an accord, but when they changed the design, i just went with the p5

Changes the headlights so it doesn't look like it belongs on the short bus and it'd be close to perfect. Ever since BMW axed the 8-series, they needed a high-end coupe to fit that niche. Now they have it.

i like the fact that BMW is trying something different recently, but i didn't think the 645 was anything special in pics. then i saw one in perosn, and wow. very nice. like all the other new Bangle designs, they look 100x better in person.

<--- also waiting for the M2. drool.

No offense to anyone, this are my opinions on the newly design of BMW. I think all the new BMW design looks like s***. For example, if you look at the 6 series, the front look like one of the Pontiac GTO especially the grille part (I saw a picture of it side to side, nearly similar), can you be any more original? The interior just doesn't look European enough to me, looks alot like an American car (Too boxy). These description goes the same for the 5-Series/M5 and the 7-Series. What's with all the 1, 2 and 6 series coming out? This is starting to look like Honda to me with so many models. I wouldn't be surprise to see bunch of BMW on the road in the near future. Where's the uniqueness of BMW going?

Now, the 1-Series that's coming out, what's BMW thinking? Are they trying to enter the market of VW Golf? Acura RSX? or perhaps 350z? Yet, the estimated MSRP is so high! Do you guys think people that shop for VW Golf range would consider 1-Series? The size is what they're looking for, but I doubt the price is what they want. IMO, I think 1-Series will have the same result as Benz C230. On to the exterior, I once saw the episode of "Top Gear" where they mentioned about the exterior look of 1-Series, and this is what they said "Wow, look at it! that look like a fat guy sat in there that made the curve by the door panel!" (no offense to anyone). I never ever noticed that nor will I ever describe a car like that, but damn, that was pretty funny.

On the side note, this is purely my personal opinions, but apparently people that currently owns BMW have similar thoughts on it. It's rather sad to see even BWM owners don't even support their own kind.

EDIT:
Pontiac GTO...

uh, BMW owns the kidney bean grill...just because Pontiac stole it doesnt mean you can criticize BMW for it ;)
