Blueprotegelx Turbo Build

you have to meet up with me tomorrow. what is your vac source for the bov? you shouldn't have any turkey. we can run em hahahah

sensor wire? what boost gauge you running (or are we talking about the oil lol)

I'm getting tires put on today at wal mart since mike working. Probably around 6ish. Not ready to run car hard yet til everything working.

Vacuum source for boost gauge, wastegate, and bov is off vacuum block

is the sensor grounded?

the sensor itself? No, I only have one wire coming off it and it goes straight to gauge. The gauge is electrical not mechanical...here's a front view:

On back it has the bracket, and then it says positive on one end of bracket, middle knub is for negative, and other end where connects to has S for sensor. I assume I need to run other wires then?

Edit: I just realized that it was electrical, I'm used to running mechanical gauges which doesn't take that many wires to run just a sensor and hook up the lighting.

My sensor has a hot, gauge wire, and a ground to the battery.

Well i'll have to run wires from gauge and route them out then! only thing i have hooked up is that bulb itself and gauge wire to sensor.

Edit: i'll run one to ground where rest of my gauges meet and then run positive to hot area

Anyone know why my bov would be making turkey noise rather than the high pitch hks's make? Do I have something hooked up a different way or do i need to invest in an hks insert purple or gold or something?

Is it ac compression? s***, wtf is it called? I know someone here knows what I'm getting at.

i have a little turkey and the hks sound all at once. the purple insert will make the hks sound quieter, and the gold is the same as the silver. i'm wondering if the bov issue and boost gauge issue are related...

I really think gaugebroke. When you apply thehose onto gauge the entire face of gauge shifts

i get some turkey when i blow off at low PSI. anything over 5 and it blows off fine

I'm gonna have to fix my boost gauge.

I'm having overheating probe now. No leaks, no coolant/oil mix, there is a squeak so I'm curious if it's belt or water pump. I bought new 180degree thermo. What's best way to see if pump went out

dude. check this first-see if you installed the t-stat upside down. happens a lot.

also. just tighten the **** out of the belts..idk why but that's what i had to do.

i never installed a thermostat, the car was running fine coolant wise before boosting.

i will tighten the belt tomorrow while putting in a new thermostat. if i got it i mind as well install.

I think i finally hit boost tonight. haha. i heard the hks sound, so i assume it was higher than 5 psi lol. yeee lol. i wasn't overheating at the time lol

yeah i think loose belts could add to the issue of overheating.. if the belts aren't tight enough, then it might not turn the pump..who knows.

okay..I will tighten it when i head to my buddies house to do thermostat tomo. Be nice if that was the prob, i disconnected fans from radiator to make sure they were blowing air onto radiators out of curiosity-in which they were!

i did't read the whole post but i'm assuming your fans are in front of the radiator and pushing. if they are behind they should not be blowing air onto the radiator, but pulling air though it.

the turkey is compressor surge. your BOV isn't opening all the way. if the source isn't good then it won't have the response... does your vac gauge read any vac at all or jut sit at 0?
