BlueBatmobile's Yellow P5 foglight overlays!

I tried to put these on but I can't get it to lay smooth all around the light. One side keeps sticking up . If I use the blow dryer will this fix problem?

If it's really cold it's not going to want to stick as well. If you keep some heat on it and press down, kinda wrap it around just barely, it'll eventually stick down all the way. The heat will promote adhesion. I stuck the center on, and then smoothed a path to four points like a cross, then very slowly smoothed the rest of it down to make sure to get out the bubbles and to not cause wrinkles. I talked to my friend and he said we're gonna hit it with a heat gun sometime when it gets a bit warmer out and we might be able to get the wrinkles out.

EDIT: When I did it, mine was the same way. I eventually got it after a while but it was so cold out that the blowdryer felt like it was blowing cool air instead of warm.

I went out and bought a heat gun to put these on. I dont know but I got crinkles all over the place. Heating did not help. But standing up or away at any distance it looks great. Pics to come . . .

seems like it would be meticulous work to get them on without any wrinkles

It's not really that difficult. See below:

Clean the fog lamp.
Peel the off the backing.
Spray both the sticky side of the vinyl and lamp with windex.
Put vinyl on fog lamp.
With damp cloth, wipe out bubbles and creases.

When the windex dry's it evaporates leaving the stickyness to stick.

KB (cool)

P.S. Is this stuff stone resistant? Like 3M Stone guard?

I would think so. After all, all stone guard is basically is a bit thicker vinyl if I'm correct.

nice ... and work on any other overlays for the sedans? I wanna get rid of the corner amber lense.

Does anyone have any pics of the amber color? The yellow look great, just wondering if the amber would look better on a red p5

but they look blue in the daylight

But they look so teeny.. I like my foglights to fill the place that was set for them. And I bet those were more than ten bucks. ;)

They do have good light output though. :)

i like them both.

i definitely want some fog overlays.............just as sson as it gets warmer out

I feel sorry for you peeps back east. You send your orders outr to me on mOnday, I get them Wednesday, ship them out Thursday. You get them Saturday, and have to wait until winter's over to install!

Bat;)

Unless you're brave (stupid?) like me and grab a hair dryer and make your own anti-winter heat!

I miss being able to mod my car. I wish it was like 60 out now.
