blow off valve question

i thought i posted this but cant find it, oh well...

Anyways, I currently have a Turboxs recirculation valve installed on my car. I was wondering about getting a bov, but read that the engine can run crappy. The sound the recirculation valve is making isnt bad, but i want that louder bov sound. what kind of programing would i have to do to get me to be able to run a bov with no troubles at all? do i need a aftermarket intake? any and all help would be appreciated...

Aftermarket intake will make your stock recirc BPV sound louder. Intake upgrade makes a huge difference in performance and is one of the easiest, if not easiest ways to increase power. Why not try that first and see if you are then satisfied with the sound of your BPV?

That's way cheaper and way safer than trying to tune out the extra richness and the rough running caused by vent to atmosphere.

Or you can just go with a hybrid valve that can run 50/50, like the one Turbosmart makes. You get best of both worlds, awesome sound and amazing performance.

Any metered air lost to atmosphere is air that the ECU thinks went into the combustion chamber to be burned with the carefully metered fuel waiting for that missing air. Result: making a rich mix even worse, messed up short term fuel trims and eventually messed up long term fuel trims as the ECU keep trying to chase the mis-match and correct for it. We believe that eventually the ECU detunes the car slightly.

also....enjoy the cel's that come along with above a 20% ltft. even if you reset your ecu youll have that one under every 100 miles. plus your car will, as said, "detune" itself and your car will perform worse. your air fuel will run so rich at WOT and between shifts and your car will idle like crap. they came out with some tunes for the AP for VTA but youll be better off getting a CAI or SRI for the sound and performance. good luck

/confirm. I just installed a Cobb SRI as a performance measure, and it had the welcome (to me) side effect of suddenly making both turbo spool & BPV purge (in recirc mode) very audibly noticeable.
