cheshire cat was a good cd...hey, they had the chance to make enough money to not have to do anything else ever again...all they had to do was be a little more mainstream...i don't think they changed with the ways...i just think they geared themselves to be a little more mainstream...its kinda wrong, but hey, if i was offered the chance to continue to play music, even if it was a little more poppy than i like for a few years and make a million bucks and not have to do a damn thing for the rest of my life...i think i would have a tough time turning it down...

deftones - adrenaline & around the fur , awesome cd's.
white pony and the self titiled album , not heavy, but dont suck.

same with most bands, they always kick ass at first, then just go complete 180. basically, their new and fresh and put out great music, then they get rich and get comfortable and dont feel the same way they felt when they first started. thats what happens when your successful. i was disappointed in the last 2 deftone albums cause i like hard rock, but you cant be pissed off at the world 24/7. all the albums people say " suck ass " are albums that are different from the bands first couple. its all about progressing and learning to LISTEN to the your favorite bands change of pace, its good stuff. im typing a big response cause i was a huge deftones/korn/tool fan and now their all different. even tool has gone in a more different perspective, but i love it.

hehe, you like what you like, you hate what you hate. but hey, i like them. but i sure as ******* hell dont like good charlotte, or trapt, die trying, simple plan (my god...) or all this bulls*** they play on the radio. compared to the latest bands that have come out, the used seems to be one of the better. and yeah, i do like the new blink album, its surely different, but in a good way.

thrice is ok...i have one of their cds...hmm...not sure which one, an older one, havn't listened to it in a while...my girlfriend loves the deftones...i never got into them, although their are a couple songs that are ok...
bands i like...glassjaw, old smashing pumpkins, propagandhi, from autumn to ashes, coheed and cambrian, mars volta, among many others...i could go on forever...but you probly get the idea...

Yeah, thanks to your suggestions, I went out and purchased the album yesterday. It is nothing like their old stuff; it took some getting used to but now I really like it. I have always been an avid Blink182 fan, so I will most likely be dumb and buy just about anything they produce.

i agree with dexter...dude ranch was their last really good cd...but i must say, my girlfriend got the newest one, and it is pretty good...absolutely nothing like anything they have ever put out...it is absolutely different...i can't even describe what it sounds like, because honestly it doesn't sound like anything else...i was pretty suprised...

I don't know about anyone else but I've been poor and CD's were definately a disposable income item. Did he say if she purchased it or downloaded it? Maybe from a friend's computer.. or a blank cd that cost $2. I know what u're getting at... but #1.. don't assume s*** about people... and #2, leave the personal s*** out.. he shouldn't have had an emotional outburst on line in a political discussion about his girl, and though he did, people should've been intelligent and respectful enough to ignore it or approach the arguement from an angle not aimed at his girlfriend.

And if she did buy it.. so what? You're telling me just b/c you're poor, you don't have a right to have just a couple things in your life that might bring it value...aesthetics is on Maslows hierarchy of psychological needs mind you and that's been upheld within the pschological community since its introduction.

Everyone needs to escape once in a while, and "that girl" is living in a society that demands you keep up with the "jones" on at least some fucken level.

Did you not state that you are in some sort of political science program where you interact with other students from around the world? This formed the basis of your arguement in another thread. You also stated that your GF is 17 years old. This tells me that 1) you're a cradle robber. 2) you're an aspiring politician (nobody I know takes political science in grad school unless they want to be a senator)
