as for the pop thingy...i agree to a point, i really don't think they set out to do that...i think they got kinda popular, someone saw that they could make some big bucks, offered them a big contract if they popped it up a bit...they thought, hey...if we do this, we will never have to work again, we can make music for a job...and i think that happened, and now they have enough to make a cd that didn't have to belong in that category...actually somewhere tom said that is why he did the whole boxcar racer thing, he wanted to make music for himself...
by the way, this is just speculation...and even though im not into the entire commercialization thing...i think if someone said, you can make millions, you just gotta do what you are doing now, just geared towards more people...it would be hard to turn down a lifes worth of money...i mean, i dunno about everyone else...but if i didn't have to ever work again...that would be pretty nice...
but i agree...pretty much everything on the radio, tv, etc is commercialized crap...
