blah ! i feel JIPPED

Flame/Rant begins now:

It never surprises me how much MSP owners will b**** and moan about their cars. Bitching and moaning doesn't make it better.

This forum WAS full of enthusiasts who knew our cars weren't drag beasts, but made them into beasts. The whole mentality of modifying our cars has become over run with complaints because it's not "easy." It's not "easy" to make 250+whp on a MP3, but someone did it! Get In, Be Moved changed to Zoom Zoom... now its F#$K the Clunk, F#$K the Hesitation and F#$K Mazda for voiding warranties. You don't think LinuxRacer tried to claim his first engine under warranty do you? Well stop running 15psi and complaining when the rods break.

People think that just because a car is turbo it should be fast, well I've got three letters for you: TDI! Enjoy your car for what it is...

Sigh....

Put the crack pipe down jr. Those three pieces will not knock 1.3 seconds off my et or add 12mph to my trap speed. You sound more like a bench racer then a real racer. Stock P5 huh?

It's been done :).. I forget who it was, but one of my customers was going over his slips with me and he ran better #'s than I did!!

Stop whining and add power then. Geez. Hell man, it's a free car. And it's faster than your miata. Who cares about the BOV? Is it THAT big of an issue? recirculate it if you want. i'm done here.

i couldnt say it any better. another thing i hate about the import scene is these rich kids with their parents money getting cars we dream about, while their getting cars they randomly think about. its annoying to see some spoiled fuckface get a nice car and b**** about it cause its not faster then someone elses.

Werd. I won't lie. My parents will be buying me my next car, but I'm living on a very tight budget(of my money) during school to save enough money for a downpayment. I'm tired of being handed things. As soon as i find a job here, I will be taking over payments as best as I can. I appreciate everything my parents do for me, but its time for me to take on larger financial responsibilities.

Perhaps his driving improved, too!

How old are you again? If my assumption on your age is correct, I would've loved to have an MSP back at that age. Instead I had an 89' Ford Taurus.

Birthday July 27, 1986

That makes 17 years old. Yeah, tough break with the car......

I just got out of a 91 Taurus a few months ago that I had to BUY from my parents. The P5 isn't going to win any races, but at least it'll do over 120 km/h without shaking apart ;)

dude i felt the EXACT SAME WAY AS U. i solved the prob by trading mine in on a SRT-4. people say what they want, but i love that car ALOT more. and not just because its faster, but the aftermarket support is already there, Dodge and Mopar are 100% behind the car. everone (myself included), spent like 200$ on an injen intake for the car when it came out. for maybe 10hp?. dodge has the stage 1 upgrade that bumps the car car up to 240hp. u can find it for a little over 300$. i hated the fact that i couldnt get a blowoff valve for the mazdaspeed w/out stalling issues. now i have a MOPAR bov, for $65, that scares anyone walking down the street. i think i made the right choice for me by getting rid of the mazdaspeed. too many probs associated with it for me spending $20k on it. i know the car kills most cars on handling, and color, and stereo, but for me i wanted something that was really meant to have a turbo put on it. and somthing that i didnt have to worry about not being hassled w/ warrenty issues if i took it to my dealer.

This thread proves that parents are getting more and more stupid as time goes on. Kids are kids - they'll always be stupid, but it's too bad that the parents have to be so stupid too.

I grew up in the same area that he did, things are different there. In the OC area freakin every kid gets a new car. I bet 15% of the cars in the High School parking lot were 25k plus. Lots of people there have a lot of money and just use it. In this case (as in many) waste it on people that don't deserve it.

Dodge and Mopar are 100% behind the car? Stage 1 parts are not covered under your warranty (which is fine) but there have been many, many instances where an SRT-4 owner has gone to a dealer with a problem and they told them nothing was covered because they have Stage 1 and it voids their warranty. Maybe you need to read through more of the Problems/Dealer Service forum over at srtforums.com, because I can't believe how many problems there are with the SRT. It was seriously at the top of my list for over a year before it came out, but I held off due to relibility concerns, and I'm glad I did. I'll take an MSP with "the clunk" anyday. There's a ton of people who have had their clutch go out at under 5,000 miles. I know there would be a couple from bad drivers, but the number of SRT-4's with that problem is much higher than any other sport compact cars. Not to mention CEL's on stock cars, random ticking/clicking noises that have not been resolved yet, a few power steering pumps going out and/or blowing hoses off, puking coolant, leaking oil, bad starters. You name it and someone has had it happen. This car hasn't even been out for a year!

Now I'm not saying the MSP is dead reliable, but nothing ever is, especially with mods. But it seems like the common complaints that come up here are all the same couple of issues, and mazda has worked to resolve them (see: ecu flash and new bushings) whereas Dodge/Mopar are just using their own factory mods as excuses to not perform warranty work. For the record I don't even have an MSP yet, and am not a mazda fanboy either, I've never even owned one (though my sister has an 03 Prot ES). I have no brand loyalty and look at all makes and models without bias, but facts are facts, and the SRT-4 is not turning out to be very reliable at all, which follows in a long line of problem with the neons. And that also explains the poor resale values, but that's another issue entirely.

Be happy with what you have, and make it better if you want. I'm 16, and I got this car handed to me pretty much. Yeah, I guess I'm a spoiled kid, but man do I appreciate it every second. I love the car. I've spent so much time reading everything about it, and I knew it was the car from me. It's not a 1320 beast, but that's not what I wanted; handling is more important to me. There's always a faster car in the next lane. My advice is find the things in your car that you love, and enjoy them. You can spend your whole car experience wishing you had something else, but it's much more enjoyable to love what you have. Everytime I drive my car I get out smiling.

wow.. i honestly cannot believe what i just read... i mean really, what is there to complain about with the msp? it stands out and has ALOT more potential than a miata ....plus it's not gay.

"i feel like if i spent the 19K that my dad's gonna invest in this car over the next 5 years into my MIATA, i would've came out one nice ass convertible richer."

here is my river of tears i am crying for you.

oh wait, ITS DRY

exactly. another little brat whos daddy paid for his car. what a ******* shame. quit being a little b****. you could have ended up with a pinto or cavalier or some s***. how would it feel if you actually had to pay for your s*** like most of us people that work for a living? what do you work at home depot and your daddy pays for the car and insurance and you just get to spend your money on whatever? i scrimp and save and sometimes miss lunch during the day to save enough money to have enough for a mod and maybe gas to get down to dallas for a show and registration. wait to you actually grow up (if your attitude hasnt already been ruined by being spoiled) and have to pay for s*** yourself and support your family. wait till your dog has to go to the vet cause he/she is sick and that money you wanted to spend on your tireflys from walmart have to go to the vet or doctor. then start whining. i know this seems harsh, but i have no sympathy for someone that isnt satisfied with a brand new 19k turbocharged car. and your miata was prolly paid for too.

oh, and how do YOU feel jipped? if i was your dad i would take your head and line it up with the door jamb of your bedroom door and shut it repeatedly until you realized how lucky you are. when i was 17 and had just recently gotten my license, i was happy as s*** to drive my moms 91 escort. base model.

im 17...and yes, my parents paid for my car

umm, i like thank them every day...i had gotten my grandma's old car (pretty much against my parents will) for my 16th....it was a 90 LX Pro...i loved that car...and when my parents said i had to sell it and they wanted to get me a new car, i yelled at them...seriously though, i was like, this car is perfect its my baby, there is NO reason for you guys to be buying me a new car...originally they were lookin at some other car, it was more expensive, i talked them outta it cuz i didnt want them to spend the money...i offered to pay monthly installments...they wouldnt let me...i still dont know why, Im not saying praise me...im just saying APPRECIATE IT you lil bastard. Every week i have to clean my whole house...and i get no allowance for it, its kinda my way of appreciating how hard they work and everything they do for me

man, just shut the hell up, stop whining and go thank them A LOT
