Blacking out my markers... Has question

For you guys that have blacked out your side markers with VHT night shade, did you need to clear coat it afterward?

You control the depth of the color. One coat, light smoke. Two coats, medium smoke. Hose it, black.

Yes, I put two coats on and it looks smoked!

I did not clear coat it. I used the smoke color from an RC shop.

has anyone figured out a nice way to get these sidemarkers apart and found out which lamp mazda really used?

I bought the smoked ones with leds from partplazza however they are not that dark smoked really.

yea i did the same thing...they r like a light smoke, but it matches my car so i cant really complain lol

Mine are DARK and I only did 2 coats, I didn't clear them and haven't had any chipping problems as of yet.

I put the night shade on yesterday and felt it was a bit too flat to match the car so I put on some clear coat. A bit more shine to match the black paint. (cabpatch)

I seem to see alot of you guys being fans of VHT and such, but when I did my side markers, I used spray window tint. Got it from local hobby shop, and it doesnt truly black out. It smokes them perfectly. Friends of mine use that to smoke out taillights and other markers as well. Doing a friends S2k tomorrow actually when we paint my wheels black.
