Black tape fully removed around door frame...

I'm sorry for trying to help people branch out of their msp world.

And I'm sorry for deleting your immature posts. Thanks, t3ase.

Well, I finally decided to do this to my spicy. I am very happy with the way it turned out. Let me know what you think.

That looks great! (shocked)

How long did it take you?

Mine took about 45 mins per window ... using a hair dryer on low the stuff will come right off ... although heating it up does make extra glue stay on the window. Some goo b gone gets rid of it though. My fingers were nice and bloddy when i was done too ... so get ready.

Now didn't I say that'd look great on a Spicy!?

Nice work! :-D

i have to wonder if all the cars came with the doors painted body colored and no tape would people be painting it black just to be different.

the more i see this mod the less i like it.

Hey Celdridge, did you take all of the trim off the door before you took off the tape? Thats what I did and I found that it made the job much easier. Only took about 10min per door and anouther 15 or so to remove the goo. That goo is a pain though.

I think your talking about the weatherstripping .... I didnt want to remove it totally because i have had issues with it not going back on correct, but i removed it in like 10" long pieces ...did that area ... then put it back. Makes the job a lot easier ... your right about that. The tape is easy to get off when its warm, but the edges where it wraps around the door casing are a pain if you rip them. If it all comes off in one big piece you are lucky.

it might look kinda odd for those of us with LX's and mirrors that are black around the outsides. But I wonder what it would look like if you left the continual line around the outside edge but cut the black off of the pillars still?

Use a heat gun or hair dryer everyone! Heat the vinyl strips, it will come off in one full piece. That's what we do at our sign shop!

Yeah, i ment weather stripping, as well as the trim at the bottom of the window. The weather stripping comes off and goes back on easily.

Yep ... i will have pics of my titamium up tomorrow .. i have to go to the body shop and have them fix a small fleck in the drivers side door first.

well i said **** it, and did what i was talking about... I'll post pics later.. but I didnt even have to use a hairdryer like all you guys are saying... and it only took half an hour.

Nah... I think I'll keep my tape on. Would probably somehow void my warranty if I took the tape off.(jerkit)

I'll wait until it starts fading real bad or peeling, then I'll say off with it.

Any p5's try this? I was just thinking that the last window trim doesn't have tape; it seems like a whole piece of plastic. So unless I were to take it off and match it to the laser blue paint, it'd look really outta place. Thoughts? Anyone take the last piece off before? What's it look like underneath?
