Black out your headlights meet

i'm going to read some of the how to threads and see what paint they used, maybe flat black would be better?

I honestly don't even remember what paint I have right now. I know at one point I used a satin finish, but right now it looks more low-gloss than a satin. I want to go a bit glossier than I have it right now, though behind my pitted lenses it's all futile :P

I gotta remember to get to the store and buy varying grades of those sandpaper cube things. They make sanding the curves and corners of that piece of our headlights.

What kind of paint am I looking for, high heat? lol

For yellow.. you'd really need to get color-matched spraypaint from like paintscratch.com. Hence why black is so easy.. no need to color match anything.

But does it have to be heat heat or anything?

I don't think so. Headlights really don't get that hot. I know the original paint I had on mine wasn't high heat, don't remember if the current paint is. I only had to repaint because I had to take the headlights apart to remove tons of shards of broken glass from a piece of crap Luminics bulb.. but the hot glass made little marks on the paint that I didn't feel like trying to fix so I just painted over.

Try Meguiar's PlastiX or Plexus on the headlights to clean 'em up.

I have, the pitting is just too deep. I wish RockBlocker came to the site earlier on, I would have bought their protection before it was too late. Eventually I'll probably buy new headlights.

can we use the PC on this and really buf them up? i've done it by hand and it's not a big improvement?

Hmm... I'm not sure about these. What do you guys think?

^^^That is the one I saw earlier, just couldn't remember where. I like it, thought about trying paintscratch.com to get red but figured I would go with the black to contrast. Will also match my blacked out bumper markers and I plan on putting the smoked rockblocker fog overlays next spring.

I like it. It's different for a P5. Ferrari matches color in their headlights.

also Corvette C6. It's definitely different, but I dunno if I'd do it unless I could get it to go along really well with a color theme throughout the car.

well, i'm going with a non hi temp black semi gloss...i don;t think the hi temp is necessary, i mean it's no that hot...are you thinking about doing the yellow...i like that myself!

Hmm, probably not. Would need to match it up, probably stick with Black.

I have never taken the lights out. Does the bumper need to come off?

I believe so to get the headlights out but I've never done it before either so I'm not positive! lol
