I know its silly and materialistic and I'm not sure why I was up at 4am this morning (actually, I do know) but did anyone else brave the bitter cold to score some stuff on sale this morning?

My main goal was to get a digital camera my wife wanted from target and I got it. She headed to toys R us to get me a 30gig zune for $80 but I don't think she was able to get it. Basically, I bought a whole bunch of stuff for my wife today, something for my brother in law. The thing I'm most happy about picking up today?

The Orange box for $25 from bestbuy. Still wish I had gotten the zune though. Oh well.

So anyone else go shopping this morning?

I picked up myself a 46 in. Sharp AQUOS LCD tv for 800 bucks!!! This is a present to myself! Besides my old tv was older then I am literally by 2 months! The thing still works good other then the sound is going out I think

The G/f, 98.7% complete with our list and we saved a ton of $$$. Been up since 3:00 in da mornin

Giant over-sized novelty tv remote = $10. That was my big purchase. BF this year sucked. Unless that is you were looking for a TV. Hoping this time next year I haven't missed year of the TV.

Almost went out for that throw away compaq at CC for 300, but then after a little research I found out it was not expandable past 1gig. Staples had virtually the same machine for 350 w/o mail in rebates... but I steered clear since it almost certainly should have had the same limitations, no? Turns out the Staples model is expandable to 2gigs. Should have went out for that.

All well, with a weak holiday season expected, I think we'll definitely see a re-peat of BF worthy deals/steals before it's all over.

I saw a TON of tv's I would have bought if I had some spare cash......I'm with the above poster and hoping next year I can upgrade for a decent price. I just got a 30in hdtv tube tv a couple months ago that is more than great for what it is, but a 40"+ LCD TV would look a little better in my living room =).

4 bed pillows, extra firm, $9.99 a piece (normally 29.99).
1 cali-king micro-plush blanket, $27.99 (normally 49.99).

Yeah I sucked it up this year, didn't feel like dealing with all the madness, lol.

Yeah tell me about it I went from a 24 to a 46 and have already hooked my computer upto it! Can anyone say 46in gaming monitor? lol I haven't tried it yet but give me some time on a day off and I will.

I pretty sure i get a better picture watching a DVD on my laptop with the tv hooked up then i do with the cheap DVD player I have or it might just be me.

yup. Got me a nice 46" LCD 1080P HD.
:)

So what do I need to hook my laptop up to it?

http://www.everex.com/products/xt5000t/xt5000t.htm

could someone please PM me and help me out?

I want to be able to take the laptop from my room to the living room (where this monstrosity is) and watch movies, play WoW etc.

You will need a s-video cable hooked up between your laptop/desktop and adjust your video card settings to use the tv as a monitor either as primary or expanded desktop.

What kind of tv do you have?
Also note that the s-video cable only does video and not sound.

I had to work, and am too broke to go shopping, so no deals for me. However, My Father-in-law did spend from 5:30pm until 5:00am in line at Best Buy. He scored 2 Sony Vaio laptops (dual core) for $399 each. One of them will be our Christmas present. (eekdance)

paid $399 for an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.2GHz, 2GB DDR2, 320GB SATA HDD, DL DVDRW, NVIDIA Graphics, Gigabit LAN, Flash Reader, Windows Vista Home

YOu cant get in on the local deals here.
People started lining up at 12 noon on thursday outside of stores for the BF deals.
F that......Almost a full day before...No deal is that good.

yeah, I wanted the Zune too. Ended up putting in my order at Amazon.com for $89 shipped. It wont be here before Christmas but its for me so no big deal. I have done the 'sleep at the store' thing and I wont do it again. $800 tv was a sweet deal...

As fun as that sounds I wasnt too keen on camping out for 8 hrs in 30*+ weather. If I did ever camp out, i'd deff wear my old football helmet and gear! Those people are nuts!

yeah, but shopping online, you miss out on all the adventure and moshing!
