Wassup guys. I bought 17" Katana rims with 205/45/17 BF Goodrich Scorchers. On the rain grooves on the freeway the car shakes side to side. I just had 4 wheel alignment done and the owner of the alignment shop said it was the tires that cause it. The steering wheel doesn't move, just the car. I'm not sure if anyone experienced this problem. This is the my first car and first set of rims. Pro 5 said that he never had a problem like this. I would think that he knows a thing or two because he had many performance tires and never encountered this. Let me know if anyone else out there has. Thanks a lot.

I too have to BF Goodrich Scorchers in yellow and I have them on the 17 x7.5 stock Mp3 rims - I do not have any problems with shaking or anything, in fact i think the ride is real smooth. I would check out the balance of each wheel and make sure no counter weights are missing, that could throw it off too.

Hey guys! The thing with 2020Pro5 is that it is not shaking, it feels as though the tires are following the rain grooves on the freeway. As a matter of fact you can watch the rain groove and you will see the car move side to side with the rain grooves. By the way it ONLY does this when it is on the concrete freeway on the rain grooves. On pavement the car will drive perfectly straight! If you ever drove a car with overly inflated tires on rain grooves you would get the same feeling. But we checked the air pressure and it is at the factory setting of 35 psi.

That does sound wierd ... I dont know ... make sure all 4 tires are rotating in the proper direction. You can tell by the tred pattern or by an arrow on the side wall.

Just to clear this up incase you guys didn't know this. The "rain" grooves on the freeway, I am assuming you are talking about the ones on either shoulder of the freeway, are designed to force your car back onto the freeway, hence swerving the car around. Mostly there for sleepy heads, that is also so why they are so noisy too. If that is not what you are talking about then I am sorry and I would also check the balance of the tires. No flames please, just trying to help.

no I don't think that is what he is talking about...in many places..and I have seen this here too.....the highway department actually cuts grooves in the concrete pavement that runs in the same direction as traffic...the grooves are about 1 to 1 1/2 inches apart and are there to channel the water on the roadway. and I have experienced this before...the car trying to move back and forth...it just depends on the tread pattern of the tire....you think its bad in a car...you should feel it on a motorcycle!! that REALLY sucks.

if the only place your feeling this is on the part of the highway that has the rain grooves....I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure its the road and not your car.
