It doesn't change location, size, or number of the wastegate(s), so i don't see why it would be illegal. Its simply getting a part put out by garret vs a part put out by mazda, so that i don't have to shell out the extra $$$. My boost went up .5psi from when i was totally stock, with a properly functioning (to my knowledge) wastegate. .5 psi is easily attainable just from intake, exhuast and intercooler. People have gotten more than that, so it may have even LOWERED my boost. I don't really see what the big deal is. Regardless, i'll make sure to explain the situation to the tech people at the next auto-x, and they can do whatever the hell they want. I just wanna drive and try to go a little faster, thats all.
