Best strut/$$$ option for MSP

AWR can do both. The Bilsteins are non-adjustable and the Konis are adjustable. The Bilsteins are very good and on par with the Konis if you don't want or need adjustable dampening. I rarely play with the dampening on mine, but for events where it rains or the surface has very little grip it can help a bunch to turn the rebound down.

Got it. Thanks!!

Updated KW Variant 2 section after finally getting around to reading some PMs from KaliCali, who is one of a few people running these. Delsing Motorsports has these advertised for $1400 shipped, plus they also have front camber plates available.

Thanks for the new info!! Speaking of them, I emailed Delsing about the camber plates for the KWs and never heard back. I wonder if he is long gone?...

If you contacted them through the forum then I would guess you are out of luck. I think they packed things up when they stopped producing the clunk fix brackets. Who knows, they may be long gone from the Mazda scene for good. I sent an email to them using the address on their web site. The thread will be updated if I hear back from them.

I used this email: http://www.delsingmotorsport.com/contact.htm

No worries, I will see if the AWRs will work.

Some time ago he sold all his designs and left the Mazda market. I bought them and have been looking to produce some of the parts if there is a demand for them. I have been busy with a Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice turbo kit design so I have not had time to put into this recently.

I have NEVER heard of those, and I won't be adding it to the list until there is more information available. The photo in the picture looks like a P5 with an MSP body kit and possibly turbo with FMIC, judging by the side mounted license plate.

understandable, I was just putting it out there, if i find anymore info i'll post a link

Are there any new options out there that aren't on the list? I'm pretty much sold on the AWR setup, just because I can get them for $500 less that list price. So I can get those at the same price it would cost me to build my own Koni insert/GC coilover setup, save me the labor, and I'll still have stock struts sitting around for use later on.

Besides Jas00x, is anyone else running the AWR coilovers?

BC Racing has a set for the Proteges. You can get specific springrates, and they'll have the dampers valved accordingly. They are sold in kg/mm instead of lb/in. Here's a chart of the approximate conversions:
<table x:str="" style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 96pt;" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="128"><col style="width: 48pt;" span="2" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt; width: 48pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17" width="64">4</td> <td style="width: 48pt;" x:num="" align="right" width="64">224</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">5</td> <td x:num="" align="right">280</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">6</td> <td x:num="" align="right">336</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">7</td> <td x:num="" align="right">392</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">8</td> <td x:num="" align="right">448</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">9</td> <td x:num="" align="right">504</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">10</td> <td x:num="" align="right">560</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">11</td> <td x:num="" align="right">616</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">12</td> <td x:num="" align="right">672</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">13</td> <td x:num="" align="right">728</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 12.75pt;" height="17"> <td style="height: 12.75pt;" x:num="" align="right" height="17">14</td> <td x:num="" align="right">784</td> </tr> </tbody></table>I'm running the 8kg in the front and 10kg in the rear. With the current valving i can go +/- 2kg in either direction. If you have any questions PM Wayne (apexlater). Check my sig for install pictures.

I ran the AWR's for a while (before I sold the car). They were great on the track, but there are some things that could be improved upon. You could search some of my old threads to see some of my thoughts. I still have the coilovers in my garage. I'd like to get rid of them since they just take up space. I'd let them go for about $1200. PM me if interested.
