I am in the process of upgrading the front speakers to components (I have the Sport model) and have ordered the Polks DB6501. The tweeter housing is a bit too big in diameter to use in where the Touring models places the speaker. I was going to put it in the door panel and was wondering if anyone has done this. The tweeters need a little less than an inch of space and I like the area underneath the opening handle. It is the highest flat spot on the door panel.
Any thoughts? I hate to drill a 2" hole just to find out there is not enough space back there.
