Want to hear what you'll are using? And what do you have them gapped at?

EDIT: Also tell us what you're boosting level is....

Mine are gapped at .032 and are the stock NGK for the MP3, but one step colder.

nothing special.

EDIT: I might bring the gap down to .029 for 300whp

NGK BRK6E (or BKR, whatever it is). They are the stock MP3 plug (BRK5E) but 1 step colder, like pdhaudio said. I think they're at .030

I run .026-.030 on gap.. and I too run BKR6E's... and go to 7E's for very high boost... I ran ZFR7F's at one point.. but I don't recommend them... and half my new motor problems this time around were from using stock Mazdaspeed platinum plugs...

Don't ever waste your money on Iridium or Platinum.. just get the standards and you'll be better off and save boatloads of money. (2 bucks a plug at Napa)

i use the 7E's and maintained a 12/1-12.3 afr with the thumper kit at 11 psi on the stock msp ecu. gap at .30 . I also had a nippon denso high flow fuel pump as well.

great! thanks all. I went ahead and got the BKR6E's I'll gap them at .30.

After my tuning with Bigg Tim we think my plugs are shot. I've thrown a P0300 CEL twice in a couple days. Gonna start with the plugs and see how she runs...

Let us know what they look like. Hopefully it's something as simple as that, but if it isn't, then at least they're cheap and it never hurts to have new plugs.

Keep in mind yeah my car ran like uber crap until I switched the plugs... I thought my new motor was totally messed up.. but just switching over the BKR6E's fixed it!

SPARK PLUGS
Stock MSP spark plugs are platinum NGK PZFR6F's. Colder, copper spark plugs would be a wise investment if you're upping the boost in your MSP. Detonation (Pre-ignition, where the air/fuel mix in the cylinder burns before being lit by the spark plug) WILL cause damage to the motor. Why copper? Platinum plugs have a sharp tip and don't conduct enough heat away to prevent detonation at boost levels higher than stock. A copper spark plug has a wider tip that conducts heat much better, and may prevent you from messing up your motor. The factory spark plug gap is 0.028" - 0.032".

Copper NGK BKR7E's (#6097) are cheap (around $2 each) and work well for our car. They are one heat range colder, and are bare copper plugs. You can have your local auto parts store (Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.) special order them for you, or get them from
