What you use to convert to side mount coils. Did you do it like the ones off of the Japanese models. I was thinking of doind something like that but wasn't sure what would work right. I was thinking of Nology wires and spark plugs too.

Its the Nology Hotwires Kit.....it gives you the wires and the bracket to relocate your stock coils.

I got them from Robert Coniam from StreetBeatCustoms.com......heres his number whenever your interested: 602-385-8308

WOW, I would have never thought they were the original coils. Learn something new every day. How much was the kit. You brought new hope to my car yet.

I don't mean to thread jack and i'm not trying to its just that no1stunna has a good question. I was also looking for something for my car. Other than the Nology how are the sparko's?

They honestly helped my throttle response a bit......but i mostly got it for the looks, it'll help with the shows.

The dealership tripped out when they popped my hood to check out the car.....they were like, "what the **** is that!"......it was great (evil)

O, i paid $145 i believe through a group buy with SEENSTARZ (Robert at streetbeatcustoms) hes a member of this forum.

I remember I was talking to a mazda tech on the internet that said the stock wires and coils were fine for our cars and could go up to I think 400 - 500 Hp. He then asked me why I wanted to upgrade if the mazda wires and coils were just fine. I had no response. This was a mazda tech telling me so I wasn't going to argue with his answer. Are there any advantages to having plug wires or are they like CitizenPro said? I read the article, very informative Gen1GT. Did you mean the plugs or wires Gen1GT. Mine came with the Bosch Platinum Plugs. I then switched to Iridium and they went bad after 4 months. I then swithced back to the Bosch Platinums and got the Platinum 4 and everything ran great after that still running strong after 1 year now. I guess it depends on what one is trying to achieve with there mods. My brother's P5 came with NGK Iridium out of the factory and I have the same motor he has. Whats the deal?

Unless you're running stupid-crazy amounts of hp, stick with the stock ignition system. Mazda engineers get paid big $$ to figure out what's best in this area, and it's an area that's hard to improve on. They know damn well that it has to be fuel efficient, make reliable power and produce few emissions, so they chose the wires and plugs appropriately. If you want looks, that's a whole differenst story, but there's absolutely no power advantage to aftermarket plugs and wires. As long as there is enough spark to ignite the air/fuel mixture, and your car isn't misfiring(which you wouldn't be able to tell anyways), there's no advantage to having 'more' spark. People who think they have better throttle response....it's just psychosomatics. You think it's giving you an advantage, so it feels like it is. No different from when I installed my RX7 AFM and it felt faster, even though it was down 7whp. I tuned it on the dyno and gained 10whp.

I totally agree w/ Gen1GT here. The stock NGKs are the best for our cars even for my Miatas stock NGKs rules.....

Those stock wires felt like they were crapping out at higher revs, to me. But hey, what do I know, right? =) I prefer how my car feels with the Magnecors I have, personally, and it seems to not stumble as much when quickly switching throttle position.

i have a pair of sparko's on the way today. my car currently has hesitation issues and is not smooth running at all. i ordered as a "just incase" factor. i'm also changing my spark plugs and getting rid of those brnz ones that everybody recommended at first, and switching to some other ngk extended reach one's that other people are now recommending. hate the back and forth thing but just trying to find a happy medium to smooth out my ride. i'll let all know if anything changes. i know extactly what i expect to feel or shouldn't feel for that matter. so i know to be more critical than any psychosomatic pursuation can influence.
