Best plug-in audio solution

:
2007 GT FWD, Bose/NAV
I currently have an XM radio receiver plugged into my AUX port for music. This summer I will be heading for Europe for 3 years. This means the XM thing is pretty much over with. I know there will be radio stations available where I am at and I can use my CD changer, but I want something more.

I have searched many of the threads in this forum and have not found something for me. I am looking to get some sort of MP3 storage device and interface it with my vehicle. The problem is I have an 07' with DVD nav and most integrated options do not work.

I am thinking of getting an Ipod touch, a docking cable, and plugging it into the AUX port. I just need to find a place to mount it to be able to change the songs safely while driving.

Does anyone else on the forum have any suggestins besides what I am thinking?

Well we have a 08 Touring without NAV. My wife and I both have cell phones with microSD storage for music. The phones have a headphone jack so we just bought a cable at Radioshack to hook them up the aux port. Very easy and cheap :).

On another note. Someone in Europe with a CX-9 was saying that they couldn't get a lot of OTA radio stations because the US spec radio only tunes in the odd .x frequencies (for example it will tune 91.9 and not 91.8). Check the country you're going to and see if that will be a problem for you.

I bought this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220465096256#ht_3446wt_941
Cost $16

In my car it looks like this:

Its a carkit for iphone/ipod with built in FM-transmitter. The whole thing has a flexible arm and can be tilted any way you want it. I just put it in the 12V socket and thanks to the flexible arm I see it perfectly and can reach it easily. To get the best audioquality I connect a cable to the aux-input in the car. If I'm in a hurry I just use the FM-transmitter instead.

As for the issue with odd/even freq, Yes there are a lot of radiochannels that transmit on even freq (98,4 and so on) here in Europe, but you can get all those channels on the webradio. If you get an iPhone there are several good internetradio apps to install and you can listen to any radiochannel you want with your iPhone through the carkit. You can even listen to your favouritestations from back home.
