Best bang for $$$$ FMIC

Hey guys,

I finally received my intercooler and I can say it was a complex job install. First of all I didn't receive the plastic couplers with the kit. When I was installing the pipes I had a real tough time getting everything to align properly. Eight hours later and one scratched up pipe the kit was finally installed. When installing the bumper back I was unable to fit it back properly on the driver's side.

Did anyone have this problem????

Thanks,

Derek

Roger that, still waiting, 2 weeks + and counting on couplers and clamps over the arrival of the rest of the kit. Not what I'm used to from PG.

An FMIC is always going to be a PITA on a modern car, I expect that but, I'd really like to get on with this job before I lose the all-too-brief summer weather we get here on Canada's left coast....

Hey Darth (hi) looks like you are waiting PG pipings... I took it from post 2 days ago. Pipings are great, but there was NO core bracket and NO 51mm/63mm comp.outlet coupler, which really sucks
Bracket is easy to make myself, but coupler is not so damn easy, should go and find proper one, and I have no shops like you guys have (Autozone, etc).

I love Ken and PG (no homo) and have bought a LOT from him in the past, but after hearing about how long it takes and pieces being left out and about the bracket, I just bit the bullet and ordered a CX FMIC from fleabay for $549 shipped and EVERY part I needed was included. I received it from California to Virginia in 5 days, and it even includes the NRG type-s (which is a badass bpv btw). I highly recommend CX Racing, very quality kit. T-Bolt Clamps, all couplers included, all brackets, bolts, washers, and comes with the BPV with new vac lines and a T fitting for a boost gauge (which worked perfectly for me, because mine was broke). All in all, worth EVERY penny.

Hey MM_BOOST, nice FMIC and nice fitment! One quick question - why is your mani so overheated? Or it just looks like that? I mean I noticed it is so damn red (cool)

Better question yet. Why the heck did you remove the mani heatshield? As for the heat tape if it works or not. It does work. I wrapped the top portion of the hotpipe and my BAT's already dropped a good 10*F on avg. I ordered some more of it and will report back in.

That heatshield got tore the hell up when I was installing my downpipe, so that is why it is not there. :D

I don't expect it's doing much. It's there, as far as I can see, to prevent the firewall from becoming too fiery and heating the interior of the car, not combatting BAT to the engine.

Mine is laying around.. I haven't gotten around to putting it back on yet after my DP install.. My BATs seem to be doing just fine. I do notice that my IATs rise a little quicker sitting at a light though.

Thus.. increasing your BAT's. I know I had a friend with a DP and removed that heat shield... Even with a FMIC... my car's BAT's @ idle were lower than his and raised slower too.

Installed my PG FMIC kit a few months back, had no fitment issues, or anything else really. Bracket is made out of worst possible materials (manf. dicked Ken over on that, just paint it and it'll be fine.), but works like it's supposed to. The reason you bend it is so the core sits back at a slight angle and the undertray fits a ton better.

Powdercoated mine custom candy purple, looks phenomenal on my car ;)
