Best bang for $$$$ FMIC

Well. I didn't receive the bracket so I fabbed one up pretty quickly actually. I got some flat pieces of metal with holes all along of it from Home Depot (about 4ft long each) and an L piece of metal like that.. Cut & bent them with a vice grip and a band saw to spec and it works pretty good!

Ran out of sunlight so I'm only half done.. Still have to do the throttle body side tomorrow after work and go get bolts and nuts to fit the BPV since the pipe isn't threaded like the stock cold pipe.

well installed mine yesterday, Took me 4+ hours :( What aPIA..I almost remember why I pay for this stuff to be done.. I got ZERO instructions, ZERO hardware and the braket is already rusting+ had to bend the crap out of it, Rained yesterday while I was putting her back together and bracket started rusting??? The kit is nice pipes and core are very good but come on man, I could not get a couple of peices of paper9 HAd to use my phone and look at pics on here) for instuctions and .30C in nuts and bolts insteaded of me have to walk .5 miles to a gas station with the core and BPV for nuts and bolts..:(.. I like the kit looks really nice on the car just did not come complete..

also cause I was putting the car back together in the rain can someone tell me please where the hll the temp sensor wire is, Could not find the damn thing. yes I unplugged it and them could not find it when I was putting the bumper back on, UG ;/

Yeah I hear ya.. The install took me about 6 hours all together and then I had to run to the store to get some nuts and bolts for the BPV. My kit didn't even come with the bracket so I had to make my own.. which actually only took like an hour of my time.. I might want to secure it more but as of right now it's only bolted up to one of the bolts on the bumper thing it's supposed to be attached to.

The lack of instructions was alright with me because there's a thread in the PG forum with the instructions and there's a PDF floating around here with it so I just printed that off. I mainly needed it to know which part was supposed to be removed and remained off the car.

The bumper removal was maybe the biggest pain..

What's your impressions after driving it around though?

After the install though, my LTFTs were at 10% at light throttle after 50 miles still.. I didn't know if I was leaking or not but after 140 miles.. they seem to have settled down to 0-5% at part throttle. Do you guys think I might still have a leak? My AFRs seem fine and at WOT my AFRs are still at 11s and low 12s.. (Oh and I'm running the Stage 1 + SF FMIC 93 Octane map)

Another thing.. Everytime I hit the gas, my car seems to be pulling to the right.. I don't know how or why that could have happened.. So when my cruise is on it's sort of annoying on the high way since every time the car would give it any throttle than my car will pull to the left a little..

I'm not sure about my A/F's at WOT have not got a pull in yet.. My A/F's at cruise at a little nutty, 14-15.. I know I have ZERO leaks cause I sprayed everything down pretty good with carb cleaning while it was idleing and got not changes in the idle.. The only one I was nevous about was the coupler at the TB. The pull to the RT is torque steer man LOL NO?? I know I have it :)

Yeah that's the same for me.. 14-15.. I know I don't have any leaks either and the ONLY thing I can possibly think of is it might be the BPV not being tight enough or that elbow where I had to cut the recirc hose to connect it to the BPV.. but even those, I bought small t-clamps to put on those too. I'm going to tighten down the BPV some more today check around there..

Are you getting any strange rattles like.. a bottle cap dropping on a table up front and maybe to the right a little? I think it might be something clanking on the hot pipe down to the IC, but I dunno.. It's a super tight fit there.

Nah it's not torque steer.. Like when I have the cruise on it's even doing it and it's super annoying because I don't know when the car is going to be applying throttle.. I have no idea what it could possibly be. I might have Firestone take a look at it when I get my oil change done this week. Maybe I messed up my alignment or something taking a turn too fast recently or something, always a possibility since I recently just installed my hotchkis rear sway bar and turning has been a blast haha but the front sway hasn't been installed yet since I'm waiting for endlinks from PG so my front-end is breaking lose a lot and DSC is kicking in hard.

The A/F ratio at cruise and light throttle will be around 14.5 so you are okay with that.

And LTFTs in the 10s is a little high, might be something to look out for if they go any higher. Remember its best to reset your ECU with an addition like this.

My bracket is pretty rusty as well after a week... I will probably have to take it off this weekend and paint it..

At light throttle it jumps into the 15s and occasionally into the 16s but mostly the 14s.. I guess I'm just a little concerned about the 15s and 16s but it's never in there long and at WOT it's normal.

My LTFTs are now at 0% when cruising on the highway but also ranges between 0-5.5% cruising.. At idle it's been at 6.7%.. And at WOT it's been at 5.5%. So I might be good for now? And yes, I did reset my ECU right after my install.

Hey thanx for the info, An I will reset the ECU did not do it yet.. negative termanal ofr 10 mins right?

I also used so clamps for the recuit hose, I had some laying around, I know my BPV is not leaking cause the Carb cleaner did not change the Idle but I am going to pick up some luck nuts so I dont have to worry about tightening them all the time. The rattling is the hot pipe hit the AC line, I noticed it when I instaleld it an this am, I have header wrap that I'm gonna use so I do not wear a hole in it. Thats another thing the kit should hace came with a sleeve for that area. (limb)

Ah that makes complete sense because the AC line had to just dangle there and not be re-attached.. I guess I'll go find me some header wrap and do the same..

Hey where the hell is the wire for the outside temp wire, can't find the damn thing. LOL

Hey where the hell is the wire for the outside temp wire, can't find the damn thing. LOL

It hangs by the drivers side fog light, it used to connect to the bumper there before you took the bumper off.

Yeah yours is probably just dangling around somewhere in there.. It might be inline with the driver side fog. I tucked it in somewhere when I removed the bumper to be sure I didn't lose it.

Ah ok did not remember what fog it was attached to will look on the Drivers side,. Thanx man

Ok so did some WOT pulls this am, And got 10.8-11.0 for A/F's, Also after the install does your BPV sound change a lot. Mine sounds like the HKS BOV now??? No more clashing swords???

Yeah mine sounds the same (Forge as well). I am thinking its because of the added elbow in there changes the angle and muffles the sound a bit.

Yeah mine has changed quite a bit. I can still get it to make the clashing sword sound with light throttle but now it sounds like a real BPV haha. Which...I'm okay with.

I meant to do some logs last night but then it started down-pouring..

HMM light throttle you get it, I get like a flutter( Not compressor surge) LOL
The Rain here Saturday was CRAZY I was outside finishing the car, UG

Haha. Yeah. I get a little bit of that too.

What did you do with the recirc hose? When I cut mine to use with the elbow bend, it isn't long enough and I just realized the hose isn't 100% on the metal ring that joins the hose with the recirc on the intake.. I have to go either pick up more hose or maybe get some silicone that could just bend without kinking?
