Bench testing Power Liftgate Struts?

So I just replaced my power struts with an aftermarket pair from Amazon (2018 GT). Before I throw out the old ones does anybody know if I can perform any basement diagnostics one them with a multimeter and 12v dc? I’m assuming one of them is still good.

He recommends replacing both to even out the torque/speed.

Already replaced both, my question was if there was any way to test the old units to see if I could keep the working one as a spare.

If you just want to see if they work, go ahead and hook them up to 12vdc (from either the battery or a 12vdc power supply) and see what happens.

If you have some cables just cob together something so you can get power to the strut and test it.
