BEGI kit install=minor problems on MP3

Hey, I was just as animated except due to lack of graphic expression, I had to rely on characters. But you can check out my previous posts if your really want to know what I sounded like.... since you are so interested ;)

I figured as much, and no I'm actually not that interested I was just wondering lol

Bring forth the pics! :D...

Isn't a 3" exhaust a bit much even for a mild turbo system? Do you plan on running more power later? I know that Big_ben and Stou are running 2.5" systems with custom turbo setups...comments...opinions...experiences?

Thanks...can't wait to see the pics...be sweet to see pics of the exhaust system from under the car!

I'm still waiting on my ride guys then I'll take more pics and post them... Corky left out a major piece in the fmu a 10 / 32 1/4" hose barb fitting and we couldn't find one around After looking for ever I found something we could work with at a pneumatic wharehouse. We got everything put on friday night just waiting for it to be tuned RIGHT!! Once again...maybe oneday I'll be boosted. Oh I went ahead and changed my current mods to future mods cause who knows when this will be over.

When you go for forced induction.... you need to be patient. :o

There's always something that need to be fix or changed. So, be patient my friend!!! ;)

ahh!!! The trials and tribulations of a boost junkie.

Dont worry Port. a turbo sysstem will never go on without a hitch. Even if its a kit. It took me about 3 weeks to get my FM2 miata (BEGI) up and running. As you may know its not like installing a CAI or something:D

well once its all installed then you will have to do all the tweaking and tuning.......thats actually harder then putting in the turbo:eek:

But dont worry this is normal...just ask Stou, CHdesign and BigBen. But good things come to those that wait and trust me when its all done you will be very happy:D

Ports right it claims to be a complete kit, according to corky you need nothing other then tools grease and locktight to install his kit.

I hope you called him up and demand he send the hose barb to you to you overnight.

I was under the impression that a kit doesn't need any tuning on a dyno or anything!? I thought a "kit" was supposed to take care of that all for you! Am I out of line here?

Chris

Dyno?

I think what Port is referring to is adjusting the boost and feul pressure, so the car runs without knocks and pings (or blows up completely). In some cases it can take longer than the instal itself!

smp3000,

That Greddy Type S BOV...It purges the air instead of recirculating, right? How much was it?

Ok,

Info has been found out. It lists for $227 USD on thier website. What is the difference between the type S, and the type R BOV's?

Talked to Corky this morning about my specific application. He told me that with low boost such as 3-5 PSI, I should get similar results of the stock engine with 7-8 PSI. If I want to run higher, I would use octane booster, or toluline! The drawback to using toluline is the havoc it could cause to your paint job if it got on your car within 5 seconds. That stuff is nasty!

linux... I got mine off ebay. There's a guy on ther e"rollewrhog" who has a ton of them brand new, and he'll sell them for like 190$ +shipping. Contact him on AIM "Rollerhog" - He'll sell them straight up.

I'm not sure what the difference between the "S" and the "R" but I know the S is universal and will work with most cars. There is a flange kit that can also be purchased for cars that need it, but in our case I'm not sure if that's a necesity. I'm just going to wait until instal time and if I need it I'll have them overnight it.
