2014 CX-5 Touring FWD

Hello folks! I know this is not the CX-90 forum and am not aware if it has been posted over there or not.
For those of us who have been wondering ---"what was Mazda thinking"--- when they introduced CD, you need to get a look at this. The CD problems pale in comparison to the CX-90 and I hope that Mazda wouldn't extend this design to the CX-5 or other models. I watched the whole(rather lengthy) video and my jaw was dropping. You really ought to view this video. I hope this isn't an indication of where Mazda is headed.

 Should You Buy a 2024 Mazda CX-90 Inline 6?
It would be interesting to have Dave Coleman (a well known Mazda Engineer) responding to these concerns...

How & Why Mazda created the CX-90 with Dave Coleman

It shouldn't be a surprise that a premium Mazda/Vehicle is going to be more complicated and potentially more expensive to maintain and repair. It comes with the territory when you're attempting to offer a more premium experience.

We'll see how these new Mazdas fair long term, hopefully nothing major develops but of course it's always a risk...That said, Mazda is trying to grow and it's not going to do that by staying in its comfort zone.

Times have changed also...The average buyer expects more tech and functionality from their vehicle plus the safety, fuel economy, environmental requirements etc that are ever increasing...All this demands more advanced tech and sophisticated systems.

Meh. Not only is that just one random guy on YouTube but that video is a year old and most of the issues with the CX90 have been addressed and the CX70 is much improved.

If you have a CX-5, like I do, enjoy it. If you have a CX70/CX90, enjoy it as well as it looks like a great car.

I'm gonna keep my CX-5 with no telemetry, no remote shut down, no driver monitoring, no speed controls, no google/alexa and little else that distracts from pure driving and enjoying it. The only PHEV I’d consider in current US market is from Toyota. Unfortunately they’re hard to find and you’d be really lucky to get one without any makeups over MSRP. Just checked out a Lexus NX 450h+ PHEV a good friend of mine just bought yesterday. The MSRP is whopping $67,180 for a compact SUV!
