BC RC type coilovers doesn't low too much ?!

I have installed BC racing coilovers for my mazda 3 4 door. I love the stiffness, however, the coilovers only dropped my car only 1 inch. That is really wired and there are like 1 inch gap between the lips and my rear tire/wheel.
Is that normal or probably the problem of the shop?

p.s I have a 215/18/35 tire.....

...uh did you adjust the coilover?? to make the car lower?? or did you just install them

the shop have installed it for me, but they said that was the maximum
drop they could do for me and asked me to wait for 2 week to let the
spring drop a little bit since it is a brand new spring. But this is
ridiculous, the gap of the rear is about 1''....
But I like the ride thou, 30 ways adjustable.

I know exactly what ur talking bout man.... I got a set of meagan racing coilovers and it didnt drop my car as much as i wanted to eitha... And all mine are set to the lowest that they can go.....

i've got a set of BC Racing coilovers on mine as well, they don't drop it that low, here is a pic for reference, i honestly don't mind the small bit of wheel gap, the custom spring rates compensate =D

prior to my BC Racing coilovers I had eibach sportlines so going from such a big drop to the coilovers was a bit weird, but I prefer it on the BC's

you guys have to learn how to adjust the coilovers then..
this is how low i went with the front, there is still room to go lower... lol

rear on the other side, to go lower, you have to remove one of the twist rings that adjust the height in the back (the smaller one)

yeah, that is a way to do it, but it isn't how they were designed to work. You could also, cut the springs, or other stuff like that. I know mine were adjusted properly, I had a friend help me do it and he knows a thing or two about getting a car lower.

Holy compromised suspension geometry, Batman! ^^

And OP, don't have shops install things for you. Get dirty and learn to do it for yourself (much more rewarding), that way you can have your s*** your way and you gain some knowledge about your car in the process. ;) You should be able to go a helluva lot lower that just a 1 inch drop. The people at the shop probably weren't in the know.... And please don't cut the springs....

no, JC, lol thats as low as the BC Racing coilovers go for the mazda3, I'll have to check when I get back home for christmas or something, but I think the sleeves for the mazda 3 aren't threaded all the way down as they are for like the protege.

Ahhh really? That's odd. I guess not every set of coilovers is as slam-able as the next.... With a protege you can hardcore dump it on coilovers. O_O

I learned today.(cabpatch)

Yeah, after i confirm that the ones i have aren't threaded all the way down i'll probably contact BC Racing and see whats up with that

i know they are not threaded all the way down, and ill contact BC about that, i was able to get wheels tucked under the fenders anyways... slammed :) rear is about 1 finger space betwen wheel and fender

good stuff ,lemme know how it goes, I may contact them too maybe more than 1 concerned customer will spark some kind of fix

Hmm, I want a drop but can't decide what to get. Suggestions for like a 2 in drop but still able to get 17x8 rims? Tire sizes?

well luca, i sent an e-mail to bc last night, and they replied today after he described other ways to lower it (as you suggested with rooming the locking ring and such) I replied to get to the root of the problem the half threading:

"I am unsure of the exact reason as to why they don't thread all the way down. If you would like i can try and find out for you. Are you having problems getting the car low enough?"

so i e-mailed him back and explained my disappointment in how little they lower the car especially in comparison to their other coilovers, so we'll see how this plays out

i sent an email to BC not that long ago, i think it was last night, and waiting for response...
ill see if i can post a pic of how low i was able to get the car.
if you go lower.. how i did.. you will have a much bigger rebound in the front, which results in rubbing front tires all the time..
i have 17x7 +42offset wheels with 225/45/17 tires...
