Has anyone here relocated a battery from the engine bay in the CX-5?

Most likely, you would need some thick cables run to the new place.

I'm thinking about relocating too but just because I want to run a second battery. I didn't see any good spots in the engine bay.

I relocated a battery on a boat to better balance it. I was surprised when I did the calculation, how much larger the cable needed to be to carry the low voltage/high amp. over distances...

Actually if you get a short ram intake there is more than enough room in front of and below the oem battery to install say a motorcycle battery or compact.
