Badges

Protegegarage.com or your local Mazda dealer.
get the one off the Mazdaspeed Miata or there are a couple aftermarket ones that aren't too shabby, look around on the forums I think some people used to make them, not sure if they still do.

A member was making some CF badges that said something like "03.5 Mazdaspeed Protege 129 of 2550" I want those badges. Anybody know where I can pick-up something like that???

I remember that about a year or maybe more ago, he was doing them in CF and SS, but either they never panned out or he only did it once, maybe once I finnish some other projects I am starting I can make a run on those and try to get something started for people.

I remember seeing those when I actually had a computer back then. Haha. I really wanted to get one but just couldn't afford one at the time. I'd be interested in one if they end up being an option.

pined up! (RTM) You'll have to fill holes!

Like Brice said, there are pegs on teh back of the Protege badge and back of the Mazda emblem, you have to seperate the sticky backing from the car then push out the pegs form the inside of the trunk, if you reach up inside the holes in the trunk you can feel the pegs, I would use something hard anf flat to push those pegs out, they can hurt your fingers alone. To seperate the adhesive I used strong fishing line and just ran it between the badge and car. The Mazdaspeed badge on the passenger side is just held on by adhesive, but there is still two holes under that. On my trunk I have the Famila badge on the driver side and the Mazdaspeed badge off teh Miatas on teh passenger side.

so lets say i take of the badges how do i fill the holes? and how hard is it to do?

There is more then one way to do it, friends I have would epoxy a coin or a steel coin blank on the inside of the hole, then use a body filler to patch in the hole from the outside, then you sand it smooth and get it repainted, the coin is used for support from the backside, otherwise the filler can be pushed in even after it has been painted. It is easy enough to do, but seems kinda a lot for four tiny holes. The best option I would say for going badge-less would be getting one of those uber sexy carbon fiber trunk lids.
