Bad Day

hmmm maybe contact some people like MAM, HiBoost, etc to see if they have one lying around?

Was yours boosted? I checked out your cardomain, nothing there.....

yup goin to need the detials... check with mazda3zoom he blew his after warranty and got one cheap from a salvage buddy....

Mazda3zoom has a good block, he just wiped his crank. Are your internals still ok?

So what happened?

i will be the first to admit that i am a country boy, but i am a smart man before being a country boy. well, there was a accident at the farm and some rifles were caught in a fire causing them to fire, well they fired towards the vehicles, and a 12gauge slug went onto the gril off my car, missed the grill itself, hit the radiator, and into the engine (i swear to holy heaven i am not making this up) so ya, need a new block

Dude... you better buy a lottery ticket cuz that's a one-in-a-million. (boom07)

But yeah... if Tony still has his old block, you should be able to use it.

What about making an insurance claim? The homeowner's insurance for whatever burned down should cover it.

wow now that is a first.... usually Mazda blocks need replaced for other reasons.... like snapped internals, but this... this is .... well funny.
Man I feel for ya.... but wow. The chances....
Pictures would be great on this... a forum first and last. Good luck in your search, looks like the lead above is your best.

yeah sorry to hear that man!

You could probably find a cheap engine somewhere, if you don't
mind, get one beefed up from marcy or something, so you'll be
killing two birds with one stone..

But maybe you could also make a claim to your insurance, I am
probably sure you are covered for these sort of things, at least we
are here in canada.

yeah, you should have seen the look on my face. i really didn't know what to think, i was confused, angry, amazed. and it didn't even look like anything happened, the ouside of the car is fine, the radiator was a great shield as is shredded, if i didn't know better i would have thought it made the slug go faster, sure didn't slow it down any. as for repairing, not possible, i can see the number 1 cylinder so it isn't fixable.
i have a truck, so tranportation to work is no issue, so i think i am going to get a block and build it. maybe sleeve it, forged everything. do the whole works. i guess around here i do need to make it bullet proof....

Ive talked to him already and ive got an extra block sitting here at my shop that hes gonna buy.

I think that comment was directed at jbass for not providing the link to the eBay auction.
