Back seat is broken

So I was trying to slide my back seat on the passenger side up and realized it was jammed. I tried to force it forward and in doing so I think I stripped the mechanism that locks the seat upright. Now the seat locks back but can be pushed down without touching the latch. It also reclines a little bit too far.

My question is can that mechanism be fixed or would I need a whole new seat?

I don't think anyone can answer that from afar.
Someone needs to take the seat off and see what it is now.
Either you or the mechanic.

Hard to say...you might look down underneath and see if you can see any junk in the mechanism.
