Axxess or PAC for steering wheel adapter?

Soon I would like to buy a steering wheel adapter. Which one is the best? Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.
I will have a Kenwood double din unit, most likely a DNX6990HD for now. I may upgrade later on to a newer 7" screen.

If you haven't purchased yet, I recommend the PAC for a few more customization options with the button programming. You can program two functions for each button, one for pressing the button and another for longpressing the button. The PAC is slightly more expensive but if you purchase with a radio from Crutchfield, they give you a pretty good price break.

I don't know the price of the Axxess, but the PAC is 50% off at Crutchfield.com when you buy a car stereo.

I'm picking up broken Kenwood units(not just), I or Kenwood repairs them and that is how I have a radio, so I'm not buying them new.
I have picked up for $150 a Kenwood 9990HD which I have to repair.
I already have a repaired DNX6990HD.
Another one I have installed in my wife's car, that one is a DNX570HD.

Apart from the extra functionality of the PAC unit (the two button press stuff), the only spec difference I can see between the PAC and the cheaper Axxes, is that the PAC retains the chimes that are sent to the head unit. Since some are using the Axxes and say it works fine, I assume the CX-5 does not send chimes through the radio & speakers?

(My wife drives the CX-5 so I can't get time to test that by listening myself . Certainly my car - a GM - DOES send the chimes through the radio.)

Door open, seatbelt not latched, etc., warning chimes. By the way, I don't know the answer, I'm asking the question.

I was also under the impression that the delay response in PAC was not there in Axxess? Anyone confirm?

It sounds like your main goal is saving money. Go for the Axxess and be done with it.

1) He has been asking the same question for over a month now on a simple inexpensive part
2) If you read my comment in the context of the quote I put with it, he is putting this part onto a repaired $150 head unit.

OK answering my own question here (for the benefit of others)...

I finally got time while my wife was home )) and went out to the car... The chimes seem to originate from within (or near) the gauge cluster and NOT from the car's speakers. Thus there should be no issue with using the Axxess ASWC-1 from that perspective.

Thus, as far as I can tell, the differences between the PAC and the Axxess (with respect to the CX-5) are that the former lets you program more things on your buttons (e.g. extra functions for long presses) but costs at least double or even quadruple, depending on where/how you buy it. Your choice.

Please don't worry about how expensive unit I put in my car, it could be even free as a present, no? What matters that? I repair electronics and that is why I have it so cheap, not because I'm cheap. When I can have something so cheap by repairing it, why would I pay $1500 for it?
It's a legit question, one is way more expensive than the other and I would like to find out what I would get or miss by buying that adapter?
It may be inexpensive for you, but not everybody can (or wants) afford all the expensive gadgets. I don't like to waist money on stuff, that I don't really need, that is why I have the Touring and not the GT.

UPDATE: One other difference between the two is that the PAC AWSC-1 supports turn-on (and maybe other) functions for the Bose system. So if you have Bose, then you'll NEED that unit.

If you DON'T have Bose, then it's your choice. Another cheaper device (if you don't have Bose) to throw into the mix, is the PAC SWI-RC. Appears functionally similar to the Metra/Axxess, but maybe cheaper still.
