Axle problems???

I don't know if they will fit or not...but I have a question for you. Have you had a hard time finding the left cv axle for the msp?

Yeah aftermarket are on back order and online all they have are regular one that say they fit mazdaspeed protege turbos but then they go on to say the they dont fit msp2 suspention witch is the right one and the dealers want an arm and a leg why do u ask?

Cause my driver side is leaking and i think it is the root of all my weird noise. I went to the have both replaced, right was also leaking, and the parts that they ordered, only the right side would fit. So i went looking to see what I could find for the left side. Didn't care if it was re-manufactured or not.. Everywhere i go, as soon as i say the mps2 suspension its nope or it doesn't specify in there system on if it would fit.

Right now, if I put the car into a right turn or going straight, i hear a whoo whoo whoo whoo and when I turn left, I dont hear it, or its real faint. This noise speeds up or down based on the tire rotation speed. So I at least want to finish the axles before moving on to other possible solution if it doesn't fix it.

Ok so when u say it was leaking was it in the trany fluid that can be fixed by replaceing the axle seal in the trany or the boots witch is grease that can be fixed by repacking it and a new boot as long as the shaft is not bent second i hope u dont have the wrong axle in there u could be messing up your lsd or you alignment off cuz when take that area apart to take the axles of the spindle you alway get an alignment afterword but about the availability of the drivers axle right now you cant find them aftermarket only one had or would of had it was carquest. Or dealer i got a used one of a member yesterday so maybe some else has another

When I said its leaking, I meant the inner boot is leaking. Its leaking on the side of the boot that goes toward the out cv joint. I can see it slushing the dark black grease around. Its a slow leak but I don't know how long the leak has been going on.

As for the right/correct axle... I didn't do the passenger side, I took it to a shop and they did it. (wasn't sure on how hard it was gonna be)

Yeah that sucks that no body has any aftermarket version right now. who would have thought that a cv axle for this car would be so hard to find!! What, everyone decided to replace that axle all at the same time!

Anyhow my quest continues.

Oh, I did go do carquest and they didn't have it either...not with mps2 sup.

For future reference, you can search for used MSP parts using www.car-part.com
Also, A1 Cardone sells rebuilt MSP axles and you can get them through RockAuto.com
Front Right Part # = 60-8169
Front Left Part # = 60-8168

CV Axle OIL Question????

When Removing the Left axle, a little bit of oil spills out. Where and what do I replace that with or do I even worry about it all all.

I wouldn't worry about the loss but change the tranny fluid every 30k miles or so and be sure it's full, if this hasn't been done it needs it. 3 quarts of 75W-90 gear oil.
