Awd Rocks!

we finally got some snow in the last 2-3 days. Of course I had to try out the car :)

I will NEVER EVER go back to FWD

And, I am amazed at how well the stability control works- DSC. I was on a vacant highway with lots of snow. Turning the wheel right/left trying to get her to lose the rear end, and the stability control would slow down each wheel as needed. I could basically get the car to go from 100 kph to 50 without even touching the brakes. Odd feeling but it works.

But, the fun is with all that crap turned off!

I'm curious to see how bad she'll be on gas in the winter with me playing with it all of the time because I know i won't be able to resist.

Doesn't the AWD make braking on snow SO FREAKIN AWESOME?!?!

(/sarcasm)

AWD is pretty fun though, especially with DSC :)

but yeah.. turn that crap off and head to your nearest empty parking lot.

We left our Speed in the garage for this round of snow... The crazies were out!! (shocked)

its fun, but I still need some snow tires for my car. I could barely make it through the round abouts when we got snow last week, got around 5 inches. Plus it was fun doing some snow/awd drifting while following my friend in his Audi TT.

I put Pirelli M+S high performance all seasons on, and I think they will still work well in the snow. Obviously the stock tires can't be used in winter, but I figured my STI was great in snow with all seasons, and this one will be just as good. Still waiting for that first snow fall here, and I can't wait to test it out. :)

Blizzaks, all wheel drive, DSC and a foot of snow (and ice)...amazing!
Can't wait to go to work in the mornings now...pisses me off when they plow and salt though.
Sticks like sh%t to peanut butter!

My favorite is right after they plow, but before they salt and sand. You get a nice 1" to 2" of packed snow on the roads. ...and driving on it so peaceful because there is virtually no roadnoise from your tires.

I agree with you on the DSC. I was experimenting with it tonight and it is next to impossible to get the rear to really kick out on icy/snowy roads ( within reason of course). It slows the car down automatically. All you have to do is countersteer a bit.

After that I went to a parking lot, turned the DSC off, and did some AWD dougnuts :)

Just make sure you have your Rust-eze bumper ointment handy.

Camaro's are fun in the snow but......

but you see, I live on a large hill, and I would actually like to get home on a winters day! Kidding side, my buddy who lives just down from me and works with me, drives a mustang. I'm always driving him home because he can never get up the friggin hill LOL!

I dont know, I took a speed6 for a test drive right before I got the Evo and I noticed it was alot harder to get it to spin it felt like it wanted to plow like my FWD...

now when you can do Axis spins thats hott.

well my friend is getting me a set of msr 047 wheels (17s black, polished lip) and some all season tires. Hopefully they will be a good balance between having fun ability and being able to get to work.
