Hey guys, i recently bought used mazda 3 2005, previous owned had an auxmod basic installed BUT it does not work, im an electronic engineer, so i debuged the circuit and it seems like somehow he erased the firmware from the pic12f629 chip on the board. its blank, so i have an auxmod with no firmare.
would anyone be able to read the firmware off his auxmod basic and send it to me ? i need the hex file. ill give you instructions how to do it if you dont know.
Thanks guys

Have you considered contacting the manufacturer? I Know at one point a bunch needed to be reflashed for a firmware problem..... this was after one of the newer year models came out and it was having compatibility issues. Granted sylfex is pretty terrible about responding to e-mails, and they do have the AxM basic listed as non-user upgradable for firmware. Anyway it could be a place to start.

Incidentally how would one go about reading the firmware off of their AuxMod?

yeah i emailed them last week but still no answer. :( its just weird how that chip is blank . has no program. anyways, if anyone is up to download the firmware off his board and send it to me , ill pay..

anyone who has access to a college, should be able to get the programmer or get one of the studdents to do it in 5 min. or maybe ill get lucky and ill find an electronic guy who has an aux mod :P he he

Are you sure it's blank? I'm not a PIC guy, but maybe they have flash protection (security bit), in which case all bytes will read the same value.

Well I have an Aux Mod but don't have a clue as to how to help you. I don't really know any electronics guys at any universities around here that I'd be able to ask for help.

damn... that sucks.
anyone locally around kitchener, waterloo who has that mod? i just need the program to get mine to work.
ill try to writee my own program but i dunno how will that go. lol
