We got our 09 CX9 GT about 3 weeks ago and love it. However, the one feature that's driving my wife crazy is the auto wipers. We live in the NW so even when its not raining the ground is usually wet and there's a lot of spray coming off other car's tires, so there' almost always a mist building on the windshield. Unfortunately, no matter what setting we put the auto wipers on, they don't turn on enough to satisfy my wife. She really likes to keep the windshield dry and is getting frustrated that the wipers aren't turning on enough. We've tried every setting. Is there a way to turn them off and just have a variable speed intermittent wiper?

It can be turned off, of course. It is on the stoke.
Unless 2009 is very different from my 2008.
Anyway, try the re-initialization first, then adjust different settings.
Remember, the sensor picks up area is on the top edge of the windshield.
No matter how dirty/wet it gets at the bottom, the sensor simply does not care.
