Auto Start Up

Hi my wife has always wanted an auto start on our CX-9 installed and I know nothing about them. I have heard about cheap ones and ones that don't always work so need advice on a good setup so I have the shop that does the job puts the right one in. Also what is a ball park price for one of these complete.

You meant "remote start"?
Does your CX9 has SmartKey system?
I heard that it is better to go with the factory one if you have SmartKey, but see what others have to say.
I don't have the remote start feature on mine.

Some of the early CX-9s have an issue with remote starters and blown fuses. There's a TSB related to that and the windshield wipers being frozen to the glass or something like that. Also, because of the security system, I would recommend that you only use the Mazda factory system as others will mess with the security system and alarm system. I had the dealer install the Mazda system on the wife's CX-7 and it works great.

I absolutely suggest to install factory Remote Engine Start since you won't mess up factory security and alarm.
I installed my CX-9 twice by myself. My first time was on 07' CX-9 and it took me almost 2 days. The second time was on 2010 and only took me few hours.
I bought the kit on eBay for a great price, especially the second time was just $130 shipped with complete installation instruction.
Dealer wants $100 for installation if you buy from them. I don't know how much they want if you don't buy theirs.

I bought the original at www.mazda-part.com. The cost of $234. It required smartkeys. Installation took a couple of hours to install

Installation instruction says it's applicable for ALL MODELS of CX-9.
