and what amps have you decided on? Typically, an amp will have a pass-through option that you can utilize, allowing daisy-chain connections.

Otherwise, you could use an active crossover, OR you could just use a Y cable (1 female into 2 male), and connect to the amps that way.

i didnt think of that y-cable. im going to be using my amps that i have already. 300/4 and the 500/1. im thinking im only going to be getting 1 12W6 with their bandwidth box, so i might use the 500/1 as the master and turn the 300/4 into the slave. from my understanding that give me some great tuning simply from the amps.

Yep, don't need the Y cable with those amps. They should have a pass-through. Just pass it through to the next amp, and you're set.

I think you meant band-pass box, eh?

yeah bandpass, thats what i meant....lol. welp im set, all i need is that cleansweep and some new rear speakers. i got confused on another thread and brought it back from the dead, but the OP gave me an idea. Should i just get a woofer for the rear. he said that it'll give great mids w/o taking away from the fronts imagery

A sub should handle just about everything, but you might want to run 5x7's or 6.5's or whatever you want in the rear doors just for slight rear fill or for rear passengers. For me, I haven't touched them one bit. Stock as they day they came in the car, just with sound dampening material inside. And they stay phased out of the music with the fader control set to full forward 100% of the time, unless I have guests in the backseat. My suggestion is to not touch them at all, just sound-deaden the whole car which should be one of your priorities anyway.

well the rears are noticeably blown. im thinking about sound deadening the car, and i heard RAAmat is good, but there was a website that compared a bunch of sound deadeners and second skin came out on top, but RAAmat came out for best for the buck, eDead came in 2nd. have you heard anything on edeads liquid sound deadener? im thinking about using that as a sealant ontop of the sticky one

I was not turned off of the cleansweep as it is really easy to setup and the 2 outputs makes sense as that is all a CD player has.
Most 4 channel amps have the ability to use only one set of preouts. Also splitting the signal with Y-cables does not cause any degridation to the audio.

My other chose for flexability would be one of the audiocontrol EQ/Crossovers. You need to be handy with a 1/3 octive EQ though.

1sty, just curious, why do you feel ed is crap? I've used some of their older subs (namely a 12O, a buddy has a couple of eu700's) which played incredibly low, had great detail with no boominess whatsoever, all for a good price. I used that sub for over two years with no problems. Has their newer stuff gone downhill? My previous subs were a JL 10W1, a JL 12W6 and an Infinity Reference 12. None of them came close to the 12O in output or sq.

eD is a fraud in my opinon. Until very recently they were just picking speaker parts from catalogs and paying someone else to assemble them. There was no real engineering to speak off. Also they have screwed over a good many people and one of them was this audio sections former moderater. They took pcitures of someone elses speakers and pretended they were damaged by him. This was completely fake.

Also I have yet to EVER hear a product of theirs that was anything above mediocure. Most of them were dead within the year and for no error of the users. This was the case for amps, subs, and door speakers which were rebandged CDTs with bad middrivers which failed.

eD was another example of a substandard company playing off of uneducated buyers reviews. They figured that since someone said they were as good as JL or others, that they were. They were not even in the same legue in my opinion but since they were cheap they must be good. If you want a much better alternative I would look at RE audio although there build quailty leaves something to be desired in my observation.

Perhaps its just my opinion but I have lived through their complete BS and they screwed over a friend. Search on Posuer and eD for that one.
Me and a few others were banned for exposing this on eDs website.

thank you man ******* THANK YOU eD IS GARBAGE! i dont know why my brother keeps dumping money into them. With the amount of money he's spent just to attack JL, thinking JL is garbage because its expensive is stupid, he could have bought 3 W7's. he's trying to compare a 15" to a JL's 13W7 which is amazing with what that little 13" and do! its proposterous to have believed in my brother and i shouldnt have boughten ANY eD product. ANY!

I don't have first hand experience with eD, but I do know of their history and it is chilling...

Besides there are better, more reputable, and more capable brands out there that aren't subject to criticism that eD has brought on themselves (good or bad now, their rep is something they'd probably rather have erased completely)

Krimson...
with sound deadening, I agree Cascade or Secondskin is awesome and lighter then raammat, but the money doesn't go near as far. Also, the newest release of Raammat BXT is very VERY good, and might beat those two these days (with exception to weight, because it is still as heavy as typical Dynamat extreme.) The new design is 100% butyl based, instead of part asphalt, part butyl. I'm being very basic here but essentially Rick had major problems with the previous design, so he went full-bore with butyl, and hasn't looked back. He stands behind the product as I demonstrated before in this thread, and I trust that level of commitment. I also really, REALLY like Ensolite, and I think it makes his product competitive with the very best brands out there when you put both of his products together in the doors, floors, and walls. The combo is nearly unbeatable for the price, and perhaps at any price.

I didn't know Ed has such a checkered history, maybe I just got lucky with my sub. I hate hype, especially internet hype but it get's harder and harder as few shops have much product selection to actually hear stuff, leaving me to read hundreds of reviews in hopes of finding something decent. I think for this car I'm going to need a shallow-depth sub, I've only found Pioneer, Kicker and Ed, JL's coming out with one soon. Does anyone know of any other reputable brands that make one? Oh and 4thmeal, between you and all the diyma reviews I think I'm sold on the Premier PRS720 set for my front components, it sounds like they don't have any of the characteristics I didn't like about my previous Focal K2P set.

Im not speaking by experience, im just speaking out of what i read from a guy who tested them all himself and RAAMAT BXT is one of the ones tested.

And as you probably know, eD has absolutely nothing on par with a W7.
Nothing near a W6 either although they LOVE to over inflate there drivers abilities to compete and will compare something in the relm of a W3 with a w6.

Rockford Fosgate has a shallow sub that is very good.
Tangband has one for cheap.
JLs will likely demolish them all considering it has tested as capable as a W3V3 and is only 2.5" deep for a friggen 12".

Krimson keep in mind that BXT Raammat has had a formula change since that test was conducted. At the time of the test, it was butyl-based with mineral filler (similar to asphalt.) After the test and after some issues the formula was reconfigured to be fully butyl. This was because some of the black material would get on stuff like your hands, clothes, and parts of your car. Changing to butyl fixed this permanently. It also upgraded the products' performance without going to a higher price, despite Rick obviously paying more for butyl.

1sty - Nice to know that JL has that sub now, but when I was building this, it was a concept...<edit> I can't find it on their website...grrr.

When they are available commercially, I imagine that will work just fine. For now, I'm focusing on Sonotube style cylindrical enclosures that can be removed. I need my spare tire back (can't trust Vegas roads)

pioneer and sony all the way !!! ;-)

LOL, all the way where?

I like Pioneer's Premier ICEpower amps (best amps I've seen for the size, price, and weight, bar-none), but Sony can suck it.

Sony knows TV's, and not one damn thing about audio (except their Home ES line, which they are slowly losing ground with.)

Sony lost me forever when they went Xplod.
