Audio? 6.5" or 5.25" in Front Door, which fits?

I am about to take my door panels off but thought I would ask before I get all frustrated.
I pulled a set of Boston Components out of my Honda before getting rid of it for my beautiful P5 and I want to put them in the Front Doors.

They are 6.5" midbass drivers and I am not sure if they will fit properly without modification. Some help on what people have done, had to do or would suggest I do would be appreciated.

This forum has been great for ideas but is going to kill my bank account!!!:D

Needs to be moved to AUDIO section...
But you're going to have a hrad timefitting thost into your door panels without lots of modification. Our doors are made to accomodate a 5x7, so fitting your 6.5 is going to be a trick. You could just build some custom kickpanels to hold them, I think that would be a lot easier than trying to fit them in your door.

Thanks for the info and sorry for the post here....
I guess I'll go and buy some 5.25" drivers...

Not 5.25" (i.e. 5 1/4") - the fronts are 5" x 7".....they are oblong, not round.

With a simple adapter you can easily fit 6.5" speakers.
Sound domain sells some. I made my own in about an hour.

It doesn't matter either size will fit with an adapter. Its not to diffucult.

Thanks! I have made adapters before and I know a 5.25 will fit in a 5x7 spot but I wasn't sure about the depth for a 6.5"
I guess I will pull the door off anyway...curiousity and the cat thing.. hope I live through it :D

Especialy considering the boston 6.5s are much smaller then most 6.5" speakers.
I had JL XR series midbass drivers in my doors and they fit just fine.
