ATP 3071R complete kit install

I know there's a better solution than that coming right around the corner. I need to take some logs but I'm pretty sure out fuel pressure even at 22 PSI and being somewhat rich is only around 1200 to 1300 PSI. We can put out 1600 PSI w/o a problem. If so then the extra pressure will easily allow for more boost and better control. By adding additional MAF voltage in a tuning product like the XEDE it's asking the XEDE to predict what it will see in the next process. This is straight from Dustin's mouth at Vishnu Performance. He was quite frank, that controlling the MAF is NOT the way to go in our cars but finding a way to control the factory DIS pressures like they did with the BMW 335i.

That being said, I am on a mission to produce the highest HP/ET/MPH MS6 and find the right combo to do it. The solution is right around the corner and I know it will make the difference between my 100 MPH traps and some 115 MPH traps and the related ET's and HP that come with it. I've gone this far and I will finish this journey.

damn, I just read this whole thread from start to finish..... Great work man! this car has a lot of potential once you get control of the fuel.

I had forgot about the 335 being DI. With that it should be fairly easy for Vishnu to get you tunned up.

No response from Shiv after a few calls and an email.
I'm pretty much giving up and walking away from the XEDE.

i know i might be too late to ask, but could you provide a pic of the complete kit w/ all it accesories, spreaded out on the ground?

Honestly, I would not expect a response from him. That is why he is not selling it directly. He is a very busy person, and is not in the office 60 to 70% of his time. If you signed up for a dyno day, then I am sure he would help. I realize you spoke to Dustin, but he is not the final word. Nor does he have the knowledge or ability that Shiv does. Not to mention the fact that the MS3 is set up the same way as the MS6 and runs perfectly.

Secondly, the Xede will support the hardware's capabilities. You have stated that the MAF is maxed out. So if an aftermarket MAF is not an option then and cannot be used, how is the Xede to blame? That is a hardware issue.

Lastly, yes you have a turbo upgrade. And until the boost was raised over 20 lbs it ran fine. I am not certain, however, that this is still in the turbo's efficiency range.

We all knew going into it that there would be some hurdles to jump, especially with the different turbo set up you have. When I can get another car here to do a second tuning, we will know more. You are to be commended for your pioneering spirit and have done an excellent job so far.
Did you look at the MAF option I sent? What about ATP's MAF replacement?

I was told by Dustin not to sign up for Dyno day as there's no way that Shiv would have time to look at fuel control issues. He also told me specifically not to use the MAF to control fuel in a DI car.

I can clamp the MAF and still control fuel and timing, I will prove this shortly over the next few weeks

I have turbo maps that prove out over 25 PSI being still efficient and dyno's from other cars running the same ATP turbo at 28 PSI and getting over 400 WHP on EVO's.

I appreciate the kind words

The MAF is not the way I plan on going, I just need to control the MAF output so as to not cause fuel cut

thanks for the pics.

with the intake components of the kit, is the silver piece a MAF adapter?

If yes, did you use it since u already have a MS CAI? If not, I'll buy it from you. Send me a PM if u still have it.
I sold my MS intake awhile back and used the ATP aluminum adapter.

I am sorry, But I still have to disagree with Dustin. We are using a combination of MAF and MAP to control fuel. I will check with Shiv directly on whether or not you can go to dyno day. Dustin does not set Shiv's schedule, Shiv does. If dyno day is out, we have some customers who are interested in a dyno day in AZ, NM area.

We avoid the fuel cut in the MSM w/ control over the throttle position sensor and controlling the boost solenoid. Maybe we should try the TPS and see if it works, or offset the MAP more. Does your boost table still read "Absolute" in the menu bar? If nothing else, we can play around with the next car using the MAP and adding a MAT sensor.
