AOL Instant Messenger Recommendations?

Any features you guys wanna see? Anything you guys hate about AIM? Anything you guys want w/ AIM? New Ideas, feedback appreciated.

Yeah anyways, i hate the clunkyness of AIM. Too much s*** in it, games, pornos, etc etc. its ****** slow and whatever version of aim i have sometimes gets stupid and takes up 99% of my CPU.

i use trillian and think it's better than aim to a point

Does aim have a feature like gaim's history where it shows the previous recent convos when a new IM comes in? I love that feature. Still, you'll be hard pressed to get me to install aim on my system. The linux binaries are a JOKE! Recent Windows versions are full of spyware and bloat. I installed v4.7 or whereabouts on my sister's college computer.

can u post a screencap of the history>? we will have history logs, but what does gains look like??

that's just the "history" plugin I'm using. it's great if I accidentally close a window or just forget what we were talking about.

btw you can hack the DLLs in windows to remove the ads. if you don't know how to do this then submit to the corporate machine! muahaha.

The ability to put all the IM's into 1 window would be nice. DeadAIM and aim+ had that feature, I think. It's a lot better to have 1 window than 50,000.

I see wut ur talking about toucci. Seems cool, i remember seeing a diff client that did that.

There should be a feature on AIM so you can see who's buddy list you are on and/or have to approve before somebody adds you to their list. Also, it would be nice if AOL did an upgrade for for the MAC version of AIM.

I'd like the ability to store a person's name or nickname in my Buddylist as opposed to their screen name. For instance, rather than my [fictional] friend's screen name of JoeS789, I could store/view Joe S. Maybe that function is in there today, but I am not aware.

the ability to set yourself idle...yes, i kno deadaim has it but they havent released a new version that works for the newest aim...til that happens, im using trillian...and convo history!...and have an option to remove the menu at the bottom with the games and such...
