Anyone want to take a guess what this means?

This "art" was on my car when I bought it. Obviously 5.2008 is the date (I bought it in May), but don't know what AF 40 degrees means. Whoever did it though it was important enough to write it in friggen White Out or something.

Looks like Air/fuel ratio. Not sure why it's on there. I wonder if someone did a swappy-swappy of the IC cover.

Looks like you've done the same add-ons I did.

That's what I was thinking, but 40 degrees? Doesn't make sense. I'll never know what the heck is is unless I bring it back to the dealer. Maybe they flashed it before they sold it? Probably not. I'll try to clean it off and just forget about it. Car runs fine.

Mods (been meaning to put in my sig):
Cobb SRI
Forge BPV
TWM SS w/bushings
Corksport inserts
Prosport peak/hold e-gauge in Mearcat pod
Clear corners (got the rear reflectors also, but haven't installed)

that usually means that the car ran threw an auction and was inspected before sale, not 100% but i see similar writing on all the auction cars i work on. how many miles were on the car when u bought it?

Interesting. Don't tell me that. The car had about 80 miles on it, including my test drive. The dealer had it for some time. I had looked at the same exact car about a month before I bought it in May and it's an 08.5.

if it came from an auction, the dealer can't sell it as 'new'
a car from an auction CANNOT have a monroney and MSRP, it HAS TO HAVE A BUYER'S GUIDE...meaning used car...

do the other cars at this dealership also have numbers written on them in white out?

40 degrees. not a/fr. if you need a ic shroud I have one lying around. A bit of a mystery here methinks!?

that's what i was thinking...a/f is 30 tops cruising, NO THROTTLE...
14.5-14.8 at idle and then high 10's at wot...

40 is definitely not a/f

Thanks for the offer, but I think I can get it off. I'd ask the service department at my dealer, but I don't bring it there for oil changes (do it myself).

Thats the freezing point of the anti-freeze. Some tech must have tested it and felt the need to write it down. Its tested using a hydrometer. it measures the freeze point and mix ratio.

Ah ha! That makes sense. So, I guess it's gotta be -40 degrees? 40 degrees is kinda high.
