The antifreeze theory is the most valid yet. -40 does seem a bit low, though. Maybe it's the FL22 coolant level of protection?
I've been to a few auctions -- that stuff is written on the windshield or windows, not on the engine cover. Plus, eighty miles?! I don't go with the "auction" theory, either.
