Anyone recommend a good tint shop?

I'm going to use Express Auto Glass in Naperville when I finally have the time to get my car done. The guy who does their tinting has been doing it for over 20 years, he's really good. He did a phenomenal job on my sister's RSX-S.

was that done by a guy by the name of dave? dont' know his last name, but i came across his name on www.tintdude.com. still trying to find a place to get my car tinted. any suggestions? i live on the northwest part of the city right by the I-90/94 split.

Are you in north Chicago, or North Chicago (the town of)?

I would suggest you find an auto glass place and ask them if they do tinting. You really need to shop around to find someone who's been doing it for a while. If a glass place doesn't do it themselves, they should be able to offer reccomendations.

I did end up going to Express Auto Glass in Naperville, the guy did an excellent job (sorry, I don't remember his name). He uses only 3M films, which he says are usually the best ones available. He travels around to a bunch of places, so if worse comes to worst, contact Express Auto Glass in Naperville and see if they'll tell you where else the guy travels to.

Thanks im on the north side of chicago. I checked on yahoo and their on ogden ave. Its about a 30min drive. Ill check them out this week. Do you know what the price was for your tint. Also i know the front is illegal, will they do it with cash under the table.

I have 35% all around. When they first came on, I thought the where too dark. It took some getting used to, but I don't know how I ever got by without them. I like the extra privacy.
Whatever you go with, just make sure you go with the same shade all the way around. It looks better IMO.

Naperville is more than 30 minutes from north Chicago. I would give them a call, maybe they'll hook you up with a way to get ahold of the guy.

There was no cash under the table involved. I said I wanted all my windows tinted. He told me it might get me in trouble, but left it at my discretion. I got the lightest tint they have all around.

My girlfriend payed to get them done for my birthday @ pro sounds on cicero and belmont. They did a good job but I think they are little pricey. I might know a guy who can hook you up though. He works @ sound advantage on Harlem and lawrence.

I'm even thinking of doing tint but not if it's like 200 bucks... what I don't like of course is the driver's and passenger's windows aren't legally tintable. ugh!

get a mild tint and claim it was a factory job. something 35% all the way around. as long as you don't pull an Adam and do 5% limo style (smoke)
