Anyone have the dimensions of the CPE filter?

There's a generous radius inside the AFE filter too. It's simply not part of the exterior molding at the base. Take a look at pictures on the CPE site of the Nano where they cut the filter off and you'll see it inside. Also important to note is there is a ridge inside the base where the intake pipe or MAF housing will seat. The transition from the velocity stack style rubber base to the pipe is nice and smooth as long as you get it all the way on there.

I wouldn't favor either filter over the other for performance, especially given CPE engineering being on the ball, not to mention AFE. I bet you couldn't find 1hp difference between the two if both were new. At least not on a stock or bolted car. Maybe if you were trying to make 400hp the Amsoil would have the edge as it has more filter area. Just guessing though.

The Amsoil looks nicer, and I like that convex cone cap over the plain rubber on the AFE better too.

Probably not...but I needed to replace the filter, and it seemed like a good piece. I wasn't looking to gain power except any that was lost from a very dirty filter.

I suspect, but have no evidence to corroborate, that this Amsoil filter could be OEM by S&B filters.

Check out sbfilters.com and click on the link for universal filters. You can order them in red or blue filter material - oiled of course, and they have several cap colors including chrome / stainless. These guys have ISO testing data proving flow and filtering performance too. Looks like a very good product to me.
