Anyone have painted calipers?

I have painted mine red with the factory wheels, but once I change out my wheels I might change the color,

They look really nice. No plans to paint my calipers, but what I will be possibly doing in the spring is repainting the hubs. The rust is so visible, and it's really getting to me. Mazda is famous for this, as my RX8 had the same thing happen. GRRR :)

im gonna stick to the classic red... although that bronz idea sounds pretty good, it reminds me of the brembos that come with sum G35coups

thanks

the back calipers are kind of sloppy because i was in a rush, the wind was really kicking up and the garage was getting really cold. ill probably put some more coats on when i have the time, or if it starts to chip. its a nice break in the color of everything. makes it stand out, but stay classy at the same time.

I have a Black Caliper Paint set that I have not used for sale if anyone is interested. I'll let it for for $25 shipped.

I can get a pic if interested.

ditto, im gunna do bronze, only on my msp

its really easy to do, just jack up the car, put it up on jackstands. take the wheels off, clean calipers, tape off what you dont want to get paint on, and paint away.

my new rims shows a lot of caliper and boy am I glad that I painted them

everyone does red with blue, its a nice break in the color, but i think bronze would look sick.

one of the regulars at my work drives a blue sti with bronze brembos.

I realize this is a popular thing to do but in my humble opinion, if you don't have 4-6 piston calipers, don't paint them to make them appear that way.

If you want to paint your calipers so that they look less grimey, go with silver-- it looks extremely clean and no one will know it didn't come from the factory that way.

Just my two cents...

i gotta go and look at a sti and see how they look, never really looked for calipers before.

Part of the reason of painting your calipers is so that it doesn't look like factory. If I wanted it to look stock I wouldn't be touching anything. But I want make my car look better.

You might be giving your 2 piston calipers a color finish simply because you think it looks good, which is absolutely fine. If that's your motive-- more power to you. Others however, give their 2 piston calipers a paint job to make them appear as 4-6 piston calipers (which we all know come from the factory with a color finish). Regardless of whether or not that's your motive, people are going to assume the second.

You're absolutely right, it doesn't look "factory"-- regardless of what your intentions are. But the mere fact that it draws attention to your stock calipers (as if they were something worthy of having attention drawn to) might give people the impression that you're trying to fool them (as ridiculous as that is). In that case, people are just going to roll their eyes.

Mine are red like everyone else. But I didn't really know what else to do with black on black.

so you're saying that it's ok to paint the calipers silver? You know that Brembos come in silver, correct? Doesn't that mean that you are trying to make the calipers look like those Brembos?

I'm not trying to be an ass, but it's just a very subjective thing. There is no right and there is no wrong (ok, well I think that purple polka dots would be WRONG).... but you get the idea. I will be painting mine black so that they disappear into the wheel well

but to each his own....
