HIDs are a popular topic lately. I have a set of 6000k and they are every bit as wide as stock. Photos just won't do it justice. I believe they perform better than stock halogens but they do produce glare and aren't friendly to oncoming drivers. I, myself am looking into doing projectors for my car.

I picked up some 6000K Hi/lows in the summer and I love them to death.

I've got am extra set of 6000K h7's too if anyone needs em. Left over from my last group buy.

I've got a set of 5k HID's in my P5, and love them. They can blind on coming traffic, though, so you do have to aim them down from stock. I got some black housing lights and eyebrows to help reduce the glare. And they almost render the high beams useless 'cause they're so bright. They're definitely worth the upgrade, especially in the rain. I got them from the group buy on this forum.

I always thought that painting your headlights would help with the glare. Glad to hear that it does.

I read from someone else that they painted their lights and put the eyebrows on and they don't get flashed as much. So I got a pair of the Canadian lights (stock black trim) and CF brows. On level surfaces or down hills I never get flashed. I still annoy some on-coming traffic when going up hills since the weight shifts back, but I get flashed maybe 10% of the time I used to before. So they're better, but still not as focused as projectors.
And for those who'd like to see the light output difference, click on my user name and check my home page. I think page 3 has the lighting differences pics.

^^i thought about doing an hid kit for my fogs whenever i get my hids, but i realized that it would be rather pointless, and would probably throughly piss off surrounding drivers.
i wanted to do 6000K in the headlights and 3000K in the fogs (for the yellow)
