Anyone else trying to lose weight?

I dropped 20 pounds in the summer in about 10 days. Only problem was that it was the 10 days immediately following an Appendectomy.

do you do any core exercises to build up your midsection? That'll be a good way to change up your exercise routines, and you'll work A LOT doing core exercises, definitely gonna feel it next day lol

jred321:

My exercise is 30 minutes of cardio each time I work out 4-5 times a week. With at least 3 of those days lifting. Squats, leg press, pull ups, pull downs, abs, weighted pelvic lifts, and more.
do you always do the same cardio? if you always do the treadmill, try the bike. if you always do the bike, try the stairmaster. if you always do the eliptical, stop because i think it's a pretty worthless machine :)

how are you lifting? 2 body parts/day? everything every time? 3 sets of 10 reps? there are 2 things that my gf has tried with lifting that she's liked.

the first is to figure out a whole body workout, do 1 set of each body part but do them back to back so you don't get to rest in between. after you hit each body part then you get a break. repeat this 3-5 times and it's a good combo cardio/muscular routine.

the second is basically just doing 3 sets of 10 for each body part (still keeping rest down to keep heartrate up) and going through each body part a few times.

to me the major muscle groups to hit are:
biceps/triceps
chest
back
shoulders
quads/hamstrings/calves
abs

Thanks jred321. Yeah I pretty much do some of that now. I try to mix up my cardio. Running on treadmill for 10 minutes than 10 minutes of eliptical pretty intense setting. I should switch it up more though. I do work on a bunch of muscle groups at once. I am pretty happy and should not complain....but i am. LOL

However the 1 place I can totally see the change is effecting...is my arms. I have always been somewhat built in my arms for a girl. And they are bigger now. LOL
