anyone else have the "wife" blues?

so i say to my wife ealier "can i get a cobb sri"...to which she replies "how much is it?" and "why do you need it?"

i say "it's the cheapest intake there is, and it has substantial gains."

well...i guess it's still just too much money and i can't get it. all i have right now is some 5% tint all around and a drop-in K&N air filter.

rant over....any other husband have to ask for permission like this loser does?

lol the gf bitches at me when i get new parts for the car but eh its my money and I pay ALL the bills till. So she will live with it or get out.

Nope, luckily my wife puts money into my 'toy' fund every pay check and doesn't ask any questions on what I spend it on. In fact she just let me spend $2000 on a SR20 for my Datsun. I have an awesome wife.

wow nice! I bet you do all sorts of stuff to make her feel special for her to do that for ya!(rockon)

One of the many reasons I don't even have a girlfriend, let alone wife!

I wonder if she asks you before spending a couple hundred bucks on some more shoes?

My wife and I check with each other before any significant sums of money are spent. She is my better half and her opinion matters to me, as mine does to her. She usually reigns me in when my head gets ahead of our debit card and I appreciate her for that. Likewise she does her best to find good deals on her stuff and not spend money frivolously.

Marriage is about partnership, teamwork and compormise. Ask your wife if you can set aside 50-70 dollars from each paycheck towards the SRI. Also look into selling some old stuff or stuff you don't need anymore on ebay or craigslist to finance part of the purchase.

If she sees that you are willing to be a little patient about it and even sell some of your old stuff, I'm guessing she would be much more supportive.

Good luck.

Nope cant say I have that problem. I make 70% of the house hold income and pay ALL the bills. What's left over is undisputedly mine for the burning.

I pay the bills 100%, I provide for our family 100%, so I get 100% control of the money. Though now I seem to be spending more on my daughter than myself or my cars.

When she's sleeping, you should sneak downstairs, open her purse, and take your balls back.

Sometimes we play around with the whole wife-holds-the-pursestrings stereotype because we're the exact opposite. She'll come home from work and I'll run to a corner and curl into the fetal position. Then she'll laugh and ask what I just bought for the car.

But we know who runs thangs.

*quickly glances over his shoulder*

my wife is cool with it as long as we have money. hell she even used to go out and do installs with me before the baby. havent put anything on since the baby so we will see lol.

My wife HATES MY CAR!! her words " your car is to GHETTO for me, if it was a Audi or Lexus with rims then it would be nice but u have a MAZDA". I had to bite my lip so it would not get ugly, but I can after 15yrs together I have been able to mod my car. She hates that I put money into my car, but she understands that its me who I am.

LOL... My wife doesnt know the half of it and only assumes I have what I "need" for the car. If I really wanted/needed it she would go for it but yes I would sell some things or pick up an odd job if it were a major purchase to help out and show initiative.

I did alot of side jobs to mod my car this far, the biggest blow out I had with her is when I did the turbo. She was really mad almost to the point of splitting up, but after her talking to friends it turned out good. If you can do most of the work yourself, your saving money.

If I'm looking for something for my speed that is more then $30 I let her know that it's coming. If it's more then $60 I have to "talk" about it and find a way to pay for it without it coming out of the Checking account. If it's over $100 I just don't tell her till after it gets here and I install it. LOL ( not always the right thing to do )
and almost every penny I put into the car comes from side jobs I do.
still not good enough cause she says I should be spending it on her or saving it for a vacation. BLaHHHHHHHH ... I need a faster car.
Now after my new plate and lowering it she calls my car GEHY!!! lol

I'm not married yet but my fiance' absolutely HATES my P5. She's just one of those people who sees no point in modifying anything (not just cars) and thinks I ruined a perfectly good car. Needless to say I'm trying to get as much down before August 29th as I possibly can because it's likely the P5 will be receiving much less love after that. I'm still hoping that once I convince her to drive it she'll realize the fun and be converted to my ways.
