Anybody get extended warranty?

It would be very nice to have such options on a factory Mazda warranty. The numbers above are pretty low for peace of mine. And the odds of not having a single repair in 7 years are very low.

As MikeM stated, the odds of having a repair that the warranty covers in the 7 year period are very low. Sure, you will replace tires, brake pads, wiper blades, battery and keyless remote batteries probably and do scheduled maintenance, but none of these events will be covered by warranty. The expensive repairs will most likely happen after the warranty expires (which is exactly how the warranty company planned this).

If it's peace of mind you are trying to achieve, then separate CD or investment account for $814 will be far more productive and will increase in value over time.

If I was buying a car that was ber-expensive to repair and had a bad reliability track record (not that I would buy a car that meets this) I would consider an extended warranty. I imagine with the good reliability thus far with the CX-5 the dealers are having a hard time selling the warranties.

Was offered a 7 yr 70k mile warranty for $1500 when I bought my '14 CX-5. It covered flats & bent rims also but wasn't bumper to bumper mostly drivetrain & electronic components.
I calculated all of the repairs that would have been covered by the warranty on my speed6 & the '06 3 I traded in, all the repairs would all add up to LESS than $1500. So it's essentially prepaying for the out of 3yr/36k factory warranty repairs.
Didn't add up for me. Keep the $1500 somewhere else & the car may be repair free.
