I'll be on the big island at the end of May, and just thought I'd see if anyone lives there and can tell me what there is to do there........I am going to propose to my girlfriend, and was also trying to get some ideas of romantic locations on the island. Thanks in advance for your help.

wow dude!!! good luck with the proposal and everything. hope all works out...but to tell you the truth, there really isn't much to do in kona. the beaches are nice so you could probably go snorkeling and/or longboarding @ kahaluu beach (it's a pretty popular spot). or check out some of the other places. there are a few golf courses. i recomend kona country club mauka course. it's on the side of a mountain so the view down to the ocean over looking everything is awesome. (something a little romantic, i guess (dunno) ) kona is more a relaxing spot. nothing is high pace there. there are a few places to party at night and a lot of places to eat (especially if you're staying right in kona town. that's all i can think of at the top of my head right now...hope you have fun

thanks for the help......I'll look into some of that.......I guess I should think about bringing my sticks, that would be kinda fun to play a little golf while I'm there.

yeah, not much in kona. it's more a tourist area. u mite wanna go volcano or near waterfalls or something oh waipio valley is nice. good luck. peace out and enjoy.

golf should be good. fishing charters, club @ lulus or cactus bar and grill. not sure what else there is. where are u staying keaahou or kailua. hmmm the sunsets are really great there and you could find a beach anywhere pretty much.

that's what it looks like, from the little bit I've seen online. Man, I can't wait to get out there and relax a little bit, it is much needed at this point.
