Any word on the Falken Azenis RT-615 in 215/45/17?

Last I heard they're still not offered in the Stock MSP size. I know someone is running 225's, but I'm worried about rubbing and want to run in DS. Not sure if 225's will push me out of that class or not, but has anyone heard anything?

If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm looking for a tire to run as a summer tire that I can autocross / track on. I'm interested in the 615 because of the higher treadwear rating...

Looks like the 615's in our size is still on the "soon to be released date* list. If and when they come out I think they will be a great choice for street/auto-x tires.

You can use 225's as any street make, model and size of tire can be used and you can change your wheel size if you take the point (+1).

I've heard of rubbing problems with 225/45/17s on stock Mazdaspeed Proteges, though. That worries me a little...

I heard that 225's will rub on the back and only in the front under hard left or right turns... An often used R compound set up is 225 on the front and 205's on the rear...

Yes, 225's will rub under full steering lock on the inside of the fender wells. Quite a few people run them everyday, I only use them for racing because of the rubbing. Its not really bad but coudl get annoying. CitizenPro has the 615s on stock wheels and Tein springs, PM him.

Like Mx3ownzjoo said.......will slightly rub at full steering lock, but no big deal .( i hardly ever have my steering wheel turned that hard) Other than that they ride perfectly fine, and in my opinion run much better than the stock 215's.......the ride is much smoother, and you get more grip.

All this with Tein S-tech Lowering springs.

Yeah I wouldn't say the 225s are unreasonable. I believe tire rack even has an option to rent a fender roller machine, so you could just roll the fenders when you buy the tires and not have to worry about it anymore.

I actually dont rub any of the 4 corners of the car.......its the front 2 inner wheel wells that rub, at full steering lock (or turn)
