Any tranny problems with turbo's?

Since NC_MP3 is having so many problems with his tranny, I'm wondering if chdesign and Spoolin_MP3 hav had any problems with their tranny's. I know NC had the puck type clutch. But with the hp increase from a turbo, have you two guys seen any problems or anything funny at all?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the puck-style clutch the one where it normally has 3 prongs(ya i know I'm Mr. Technical) on it rather than being a full out round disc? I had sorta assumed that the stock clutch should be replaced when I go the turbo route, altho I don't think I'd go quite as far as NC_MP3 did in terms of that heavy duty of a clutch.

From talking with my mechanic and Tripoint, it is the fact that I was using a solid hub puck.

Here is a 6 puck:

Here is a sprung 6 puck:

The sprung disc sort of absorbs some of the shock, so it is easier on the tranny. It also is made to slip a little for easier take off. The non sprung is not made to slip.

If it were a sprung puck it wouldn't break the tranny. Also I was getting very bad wheel hop, which probably didn't help the situation. I recommend the engine mounts.

The reason we went with the puck is that the street disc is not much better than stock. There is no doubt in my mind that the ACT pressure plate with the street disc will slip when launching, especially if you boost the car. A slipping clutch can really hurt you when launching.

i would agree with the slipping, but i rather it to slip than break the trans. i am pretty hard on my car, i havn't had the clutch slip once. it is cheaper to replace the disc, than 2000 or so on trans parts. the mounts will make it worse, because there will be less give in the drive train to absorb the impact.
